Description

Regional Director, New Business Development to join our Cabin Electronics Product Group in Kirkland, WA.

The Cabin Electronics Product Group is the world's leading manufacturer of in-seat power systems for the commercial airline industry. The group's EmPower® product line provides a variety of scalable power solutions for aircraft passenger cabins and flight decks. The system is used by over 280 airlines, IFE suppliers, and all major aircraft OEM manufacturers worldwide.

Job Summary

The Regional Director coordinates activities of the assigned Regional Business Unit (RBU) Sales and Marketing activities to achieve increased sales revenue, increasing profit, and strategic customer program wins.

Job Duties
  • Key Relationships: Manage key customer relationships in assigned region, both directly and through others within the organization. The Regional Director, New Business Development is often the first point of contact for key customers in assigned region.
  • Sales Management: Provide overall management of defined COTS product line and regional business unit sales and marketing to ensure a common image is portrayed to customers, consistent with our strategic plan, and ultimately to successfully grow the business
  • Market Research: Based on customer feedback and market research identify new product growth areas. Create Marketing Requirements Documents (MRD) as input into design to identify key product characteristics for new product innovation.
  • Marketing Collateral: High contributor to the content of marketing collateral to ensure professionalism, a common image, and up to date materials.
  • Strategic Planning: Plays a large role in helping to define, develop, and execute long range and short-range strategic plans on an annual basis.
  • Budgeting: Manage B&P and Sales and Marketing regional budgets throughout the year. Participate in yearly planning inputs for recommended bid and proposal (B&P) and internal research and development programs, estimated department sales and profits, indirect budgets, and capital equipment/facility requirements.
  • Proposals: Manage proposal efforts to capture new business in assigned region. This includes development of the win strategy, potentially acting as the proposal manager, and leading or participating in the negotiation of the initial customer contract
  • Marketing: Provides significant input into product line sales and marketing literature especially directed at the needs of differing regions through the world and the individual region assigned.
  • Team Leadership, Growth and Development: Recruit, hire, lead, motivate, and manage a team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth, while also offering guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Performance Management: Set performance standards, monitor and evaluate team and individual performance, provide constructive feedback, and address any issues to ensure high productivity and quality of work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree - may consider related experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrates strong technical background
  • Competency in the role's functions is usually obtained with 15 years of related experience; experience in Cabin Electronics preferred
  • Progressive leadership experience in career to include supervisory experience or mentoring

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $152,072 - $242,920 annually (Midpoint: $197,496).
    Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, education, certifications, market conditions, and business needs. It is not typical to be hired at or near the top of the range.
  • Quarterly Profit Sharing Bonuses also apply.
