Job overview:

The Regional Director, Field Patient Access will play a critical role in enabling how patients access COMP360 therapy within a defined geography.

This leader will hire, manage, train, and develop a team of Patient Access Liaisons (PALs) while serving as a hands-on, field-based expert to support treatment sites, patients, and caregivers navigating the complex access, reimbursement, and operational pathways required to deliver COMP360 therapy. Success will require a leader who can simplify complex processes, remove barriers to care, and ensure consistent, high-quality execution across their region.

The Regional Director, Field Patient Access will operate as a player/coach, balancing team leadership with direct engagement in solving complex access challenges in real time. This includes supporting sites with coverage navigation, coding and billing education, care coordination processes, and therapy preparations.

This role requires strong collaboration across Patient Engagement, Market Access, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Compliance to ensure that patients and providers are supported with accurate, appropriate, and compliant access education and resources. The Regional Director, Field Patient Access will also translate field insights into actionable feedback to improve access pathways and patient experience at scale.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in reimbursement and access, experience leading field-based reimbursement and access teams, and a strong personal commitment to Compass' mission of improving patient outcomes in mental health. Location: Field-based and able to travel ~70% within region via plane, train, or car.

Roles and responsibilities(Include but are not limited to):

Regional Leadership & Execution:
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of Patient Access Liaisons (PALs), building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and patient-centered problem solving
  • Operate as a true player/coach, stepping in to navigate complex access and reimbursement challenges while elevating team capabilities
  • Drive consistent, high-quality execution across the region with a strong focus on compliant, non-promotional engagement
  • Identify and elevate regional trends, payer dynamics, and systemic barriers to inform continuous improvement at scale
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning, coaching, and shared best practices
  • Model and reinforce ethical, compliant behavior across the team

Site Activation & Support:
  • Partner closely with treatment sites to simplify and operationalize access to COMP360 through clear, actionable education on coverage, coding, billing, and REMS requirements
  • Translate complex access and operational requirements into practical workflows that sites can confidently execute
  • Anticipate and address barriers impacting site readiness and patient progression
  • Support sites in preparing for patient onboarding and early treatment delivery within defined role boundaries

Reimbursement & Access Expertise:
  • Serve as a regional expert in access and reimbursement, equipping teams and sites with the knowledge needed to navigate pharmacy and medical benefit pathways
  • Champion the consistent use of approved tools, materials, and resources to ensure accurate and compliant field execution
  • Surface meaningful, aggregated insights on payer trends, access challenges, and emerging barriers to inform cross-functional strategy

Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate across Patient Engagement, Market Access, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Compliance to ensure aligned, compliant execution
  • Act as a connector across teams-bringing forward field insights to improve tools, training, and the overall patient and provider experience
  • Maintain clear role boundaries and ensure all activities remain grounded in a non-promotional patient services model

Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD or equivalent) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in field reimbursement or patient access within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry. Experience leading in mental health or neuroscience is highly preferred
  • Experience building and leading regional field access teams with a deep understanding of:
    • Medical and pharmacy benefit reimbursement
    • Buy-and-bill and site-of-care dynamics
    • Prior authorization and payer processes
  • Patient-centric leader who integrates compassion with operational rigor
  • Experience supporting complex therapies (eg specialty, infusion, REMS products, or site-administered treatments)
  • Soft Skills: Deep empathy, exceptional communication skills, cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate sensitive topics with rigour and compassion

Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.

Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognise employees for their work and any role at Compass, regardless of the location, is eligible for additional discretionary bonuses and equity.
