How You'll Contribute

The Regional Development Manager (RDM) leads Stephenson's Southwestern Ontario branches with complete P&L accountability, guiding branch managers, driving profitable growth, and identifying new market opportunities - from greenfield openings to acquisitions. This role shapes regional strategy, strengthens customer relationships, and turns business opportunities into measurable results. It's a high-impact leadership position for someone who thrives on ownership, wants to influence company-wide growth, and enjoys building strong teams across multiple locations. Responsibilities include:
  • Direct and provide support for all operations under their control by monitoring performance and guiding managers in the achievement of current business goals.
  • Accountable for and directs the regional business to maximize its profitable growth and return on investment.
  • Develop the region's annual business plan for approval and provide full details related to operating facilities, store openings and capital acquisitions and ensure it is followed through to completion.
  • Provides the necessary management and leadership to the region's branches with full P&L accountability for their performance.
  • Coordinate regional activities with the VP Operations to ensure the necessary services and support are available.
  • Foster cost effectiveness for the operation of the branches under their direct control.
  • Provide quarterly analysis and report on the region's performance against budget.
  • Provide action plans for corrective initiatives to improve performance in partnership with the Sales Directors.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to coordinate efforts with respect to Company sales and marketing initiatives.
  • In partnership with the Sales Directors, review sales call plans and results to ensure overall objectives are achieved.
  • Analyze sales opportunities to determine their viability and make recommendations on course of action.
  • Design and implement business plans for new opportunities to ensure the identified growth and profit is achieved.
  • Determine and apply the appropriate internal resources required to foster the synergies required to capitalize on the strategic opportunities identified.
  • Contribute to corporate strategic planning exercises.
  • Identify, create and develop profitable strategic alliances with business partners
  • Identify acquisition targets and make recommendations on course of action
  • Develop business plans and manage the integration of acquisitions into the region
  • Discuss and help formulate plans for the development of employees with Human Resources
  • Present and recommend staffing requirements to Human Resources


What You Bring to the Table
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • G Class Driver's license with clean abstract.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably in a rental environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing people.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and managing employee relations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Dashboards and preference with RMUI/TMS/WSS software.
