Full Job Description
The Regional Chief Engineer (RCE) - Advanced Turbocharged Engines is responsible for the end-to-end technical leadership, delivery, and performance of next-generation turbocharged gasoline engine programs within the region.

This role serves as the single point of accountability for engineering execution across design, validation, manufacturing, and quality, ensuring alignment with global strategy while meeting regional regulatory, performance, and cost targets.

The RCE leads cross-functional teams to deliver high-efficiency, high-performance turbocharged engine systems from concept through launch and into serial production.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Own full lifecycle delivery of turbocharged engine programs (concept 14 production 14 field support)
  • Define and manage program targets: performance, efficiency, emissions, cost, and timing
  • Drive milestone execution and ensure readiness at key gates (e.g., design freeze, validation, launch)

Technical Leadership

  • Lead system-level integration of turbocharged engine architectures (air handling, combustion, thermal systems, boosting strategy)
  • Ensure robust engineering solutions through DFMEA, validation planning, and design reviews

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Coordinate across:
    • Design System Engineers (DSEs)
    • Release Engineers (DREs)
    • Calibration, CAE, and validation teams
    • Manufacturing and supplier quality
  • Drive issue resolution through structured problem-solving and escalation when required

Quality & Robustness Ownership

  • Accountable for engine quality performance in development and field
  • Lead root cause investigations and ensure implementation of permanent corrective actions
  • Monitor KPIs including warranty, durability, and test outcomes

Manufacturing & Launch Execution

  • Ensure manufacturability and smooth plant launch in coordination with manufacturing leadership
  • Oversee build phases, pilot execution, and production ramp-up activities

Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide regular executive updates on program status, risks, and mitigation plans
  • Represent the region in global engineering and program leadership forums


Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in engine or powertrain development
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex system integration programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering

  • Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving certification
