Regional Business Manager (Ontario Central/East) - Specialty Care & Internal Medicine (SCIM)

Role Overview

The Regional Business Manager (RBM) for Ontario Central/East leads the deployment of people, resources, and investments across the region to maximize patient impact, revenue, and profitability for Pfizer SCIM. As a core member of the SCIM Sales Leadership Team, the RBM provides strong commercial leadership, coaches and develops a high-performing team, and drives cross-functional execution aligned to national strategy.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Commercial Leadership & Business Results

  • Deliver sales results and maximize revenue and profitability for the region
  • Implement commercial strategies that increase profitability
  • Develop and execute a local business plan with short- and long-term sales objectives
  • Ensure year-over-year increase in customer value and reduction in operational costs
  • Contribute to overall regional/provincial performance through strategic initiatives beyond own geography

Sales Excellence & Coaching

  • Drive adoption of IDM core standards across all engagement stages (strategic, pre-call, in-call, post-call planning)
  • Conduct regular, impactful face-to-face and virtual coaching aligned with frequency metrics
  • Oversee and guide the work of colleagues to achieve meaningful business outcomes
  • Drive “Quality of Dialogue,” messaging quality, and effective targeting

Cross-Functional & Omnichannel Execution

  • Provide cross-functional leadership across the geography
  • Deploy cross-functional expertise using face-to-face and omnichannel approaches
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Head Office teams to ensure alignment on brand strategies and initiatives (e.g., POA)
  • Generate key local insights and provide input to cross-functional partners

Territory Planning & Customer Engagement

  • Lead customer-facing activities with key strategic customers
  • Develop and execute key customer plans within the geography and lead Integrated Customer Planning for the region
  • Leverage strong understanding of the local healthcare environment and its impact on Pfizer business
  • Build and maintain relationships with influential local stakeholders

People Leadership & Culture

  • Ensure engagement and development of all direct reports based on agreed development plans
  • Influence and collaborate effectively with peers
  • Facilitate the evolution of Pfizer culture within the organization

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Proven commercial leader with 3-5 years of a strong track record in sales and/or key account management, ideally within specialty care and/or internal medicine
  • Strategic business thinker with demonstrated ability to develop and execute regional business plans in complex environments
  • Strong people and cross-functional leader who coaches effectively, collaborates across functions, and manages change with agility
  • Deep customer and ecosystem understanding, including established relationships with key stakeholders, insight into local healthcare dynamics and a patient-centric mindset
  • Excellent communicator: An advanced level of English, both spoken and written, is required to enable the individual to collaborate effectively with colleagues and partners located elsewhere in Canada and internationally daily as part of their responsibilities.
  • Relevant university degree in business, science, or a related field.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) - the incumbent must be able to communicate well in English, as his or her duties require interaction with stakeholders and colleagues outside Quebec and Canada

Travel

  • Field-based role with up to 60% travel in territory for field visits and coaching

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $139,350 to $232,250.

The salary range provided applies to Canada only and does not apply to any other locations outside of Canada.

La ou le chef – Affaires régionales (CAR) pour l’Ontario Centre/Est dirige le déploiement du personnel, des ressources et des investissements dans la région afin de maximiser les retombées sur les patients, le chiffre d’affaires et la rentabilité de Pfizer SSMI. En tant que membre clé de l’équipe de leadership des Ventes de SSMI, la ou le CAR assure un leadership commercial solide, encadre et perfectionne une équipe hautement performante, et pilote la mise en oeuvre entre différents services des initiatives conformément à la stratégie nationale.

Fonctions principales et responsabilités :

Leadership commercial et résultats commerciaux

  • Obtenir des résultats de vente et maximiser le chiffre d’affaires et la rentabilité pour la région
  • Mettre en oeuvre des stratégies commerciales qui augmentent la rentabilité
  • Concevoir et mettre en oeuvre un plan d’affaires local comprenant des objectifs de vente à court et à long terme
  • Assurer une augmentation annuelle de la valeur auprès de la clientèle et une réduction des coûts d’exploitation
  • Contribuer au rendement général pour la région/province au moyen d’initiatives stratégiques ayant une portée au-delà de son secteur géographique

Excellence dans la vente et encadrement

  • Favoriser l’adoption des normes de base des Marchés développés internationaux à toutes les étapes de l’engagement (planification stratégique, planification avant la visite, visite, planification après la visite)
  • Organiser régulièrement des séances d’encadrement efficaces en personne et en ligne, en fonction des indicateurs de fréquence
  • Superviser et encadrer le travail des collègues afin d’obtenir des résultats concrets pour l’entreprise
  • Favoriser un « dialogue de qualité », c’est-à-dire assurer la qualité des messages et l’efficacité du ciblage

Exécution interfonctionnelle et omnicanal

  • Assurer un leadership interfonctionnel dans la zone géographique
  • Déployer une expertise interfonctionnelle au moyen d’approches interfonctionnelles et omnicanaux en personne
  • Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes du Marketing et du siège social pour assurer l’harmonisation avec les stratégies et initiatives de marque (p. ex. le plan d’action)
  • Obtenir des informations clés à l’échelle régionale et formuler des recommandations aux partenaires des équipes interfonctionnelles.

Planification du territoire et engagement auprès de la clientèle

  • Mener des activités en contact direct avec des clients stratégiques

  • Sens de la stratégie d’affaires et capacité à élaborer et à mettre en oeuvre des plans d’affaires régionaux dans des contextes complexes
  • Solides aptitudes en matière de leadership interfonctionnel et capacité d’encadrer efficacement, de collaborer avec les différents services et de gérer le changement avec agilité
  • Compréhension approfondie de la clientèle et de l’écosystème, notamment des relations bien établies avec les principales parties prenantes, une bonne compréhension des dynamiques locales du secteur de la santé et une approche centrée sur le patient
  • Excellentes aptitudes pour la communication – Un niveau avancé d’anglais, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit, est requis afin de permettre à la personne de collaborer efficacement avec des collègues et partenaires situés ailleurs au Canada et à l’international de façon quotidienne dans le cadre de ses responsabilités.
  • Diplôme universitaire dans une discipline pertinente (affaires, science ou discipline connexe)
