YOU

As a Regional Builder Manager, you will be responsible for improving and developing relationships with builders and contractors throughout the branch territory. This will include the regional and local offices of national builders, regional builders, contractors, and subcontractors. Overall goal is to raise the awareness of the benefits of Simpson products, system solutions, software solutions and services including training resources. Will work with individuals at all levels in the builders' and contractors' organizations to improve the knowledge of Strong-Tie products and system solutions, to identify new opportunities and to respond to builders' requests.

This individual will implement, monitor, and enhance the Builder Program within the branch territory and beyond. This will include identifying and responding to local builder product knowledge needs. In addition, the job responsibilities include developing and maintaining a database of contacts throughout a builders' organization. Because of the varied responsibilities, strong time management, communication and organizational skills are required.

The Regional Builder Program Manager mentors and trains other field sales reps on becoming a trusted advisor to the industry with emphasis on the builder community. This is accomplished through training ride-along, joint presentations, mentorship, and peer-to-peer accountability.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Builder Focus

Represent the company within the builder community and broader construction industry by developing strong relationships with builders, customers, contractors, and industry partners. Conduct regular meetings with builder partners and contractors to understand their business needs, strengthen relationships, and identify opportunities to provide value. Monitor builder, market, industry, product, and technology trends that may impact the organization's competitiveness. Connect insights across the builder community and construction industry to identify emerging opportunities, customer needs, and potential solutions.

Develop a strong understanding of builder customers and earn their trust by consistently communicating and demonstrating the Simpson Strong-Tie value proposition. Maintain a thorough understanding of the overall builder program structure, including rebates, program offerings, and the value Simpson Strong-Tie provides to builder partners. Partner with Territory Managers to deliver a "no-equal" training experience for builder and contractor customers.

Develop, coordinate, and promote builder workshops, customer training opportunities, and other educational programs designed to strengthen customer knowledge and engagement. Maintain accurate and current customer information by documenting calls, meetings, activities, and relevant customer updates in Salesforce. Stay current on builder software, technology, and digital solutions impacting the construction industry. Work closely with the software team to identify and evaluate potential customers, communicate software features and benefits, and train builder customers on available software solutions and opportunities.

Educate and train Territory Managers on builder software and technology offerings to ensure they are equipped to effectively communicate available solutions to customers. Collaborate with internal teams and customers to explore new ideas, opportunities, and evolving needs related to builder software, technology, and digital solutions. (60%)

Jobsite Calls

Conduct jobsite visits to position Simpson Strong-Tie as a trusted partner and valuable resource to builders and contractors. Educate customers on the value, support, products, and solutions Simpson Strong-Tie provides throughout the construction process. Provide guidance on the proper installation and application of Simpson Strong-Tie products, helping builders and contractors understand product features, benefits, and recommended use. Serve as a knowledgeable resource by answering product-related questions, identifying opportunities for additional support, and reinforcing best practices in the field. (20%)

Sales Force Mentoring and Training

Build a culture of trust, accountability, teamwork, and long-term success. Mentor the branch sales team and Builder Services Representative on builder sales tools, software, programs, and priorities. Provide sales and product training, support sales meetings and training sessions, and develop tools that improve sales effectiveness. Coach the Builder Services Representative in supporting builder-focused efforts while bringing leadership, positive energy, and new ideas to the Simpson Builder Team. (20%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A/B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • 5 Years' Construction industry experience with products and services. Fluent in residential construction practices and distribution channels. Must have a strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to the contractor.
  • 3 Years Simpson Strong-Tie knowledge of products and solutions.
  • Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth preferred.
  • Presentation Skills - Ability to develop and present captivating presentations and incorporate sales skills to step a prospect through a story.
  • Customer Focus - Ability to build and sustain productive customer relationships.

  • Computer/Software/Technology - Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point), Salesforce CRM, SAP ERP, and other industry standard software packages. Ability to learn new systems in a timely manner.
  • Technical - Practical working knowledge of residential housing industry. Familiarity with Simpson products is a plus.


AVEL REQUIRED

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 60% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt/non-exempt position is located in the Midwest Territory (OH, IN, MN, IL) of the Columbus Branch.

RELOCATION

Relocation may be considered for this position.

PAY

$84,400 - $135,000 / year

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level is loud. The job may risk exposure to dust, heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions.
