Regional Anesthesiologist in Washington, DC ($50,000 Signing Bonus).

MedStar Medical Group Anesthesiology (MMGA) is seeking a full-time anesthesiologist with an expertise in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine to be based at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. We have a robust regional anesthesia program, with over 3,400 blocks performed per year for our burn, cardiac, orthopedic, plastic, and trauma surgery patients. Candidates should be currently in or completed a regional anesthesia fellowship or regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine fellowship or significant experience is required.

Our Acute Pain Service is an ever-growing part of our practice, with an emphasis on peripheral nerve and neuraxial catheter placement, improving the patient experience, and minimizing opioid utilization.

Common blocks include:
  • Upper Extremity: Interscalene, Supraclavicular, Infraclavicular, Axillary, Intercostobrachial
  • Lower Extremity: Femoral, Adductor Canal, Sciatic (Subgluteal/Anterior/Popliteal), PENG, iPACK, Fascia Iliaca, Lateral Femoral Cutaneous
  • Chest Wall: Parasternal, PECS, Paravertebral, Erector Spinae Plane, Serratus Anterior Plane
  • Abdominal: TAP, Rectus Sheath, Quadratus Lumborum, Ilioinguinal/Iliohypogastric
  • Misc: Stellate Ganglion


MedStar Washington Hospital Center is a quaternary care center and Level 1 trauma center in the heart of Washington DC. Our Anesthesia department provides care in over 40 sites, including 30+ ORs, Endoscopy, EP Lab, and Labor and Delivery. We are a teaching institution and serve as a clinical site for anesthesia residency, SAA, and SRNA programs.
