Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with key accounts, understanding their organizational structure and decision-making processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major distribution accounts.
  • Collaborate with National Account Managers to develop and implement Account Plans that align with both Corteva and account objectives.
  • Set and deliver Quarterly and Annual Purchase Targets and Sales Objectives in line with financial targets.
  • Ensure rapid adoption of new technologies by accounts.
  • Monitor and manage execution of financial metrics and market share objectives with accounts.
  • Create cross-platform opportunities for Crop Protection, Seeds, and Range/Pasture with accounts.

Full Job Description

The Crop Protection Account Manager (AM) represents Corteva with Distribution Account(s) to advance products and offerings to meet customer needs, meet financial objectives, establish/capitalize on new markets and technologies, and provide leadership and direction to the accounts. The Account Manager, with the National Account Managers, works with the District Leaders and Marketing Teams to ensure that Account Plans and activities are integrated with and supportive of local and regional plans.

This is a remote positioncalling on customers West of the Rockies serving Wilbur-Ellis and AAD.

If hired, you may be required to travel as necessary to support business activities.


Responsibilities:


Manage Company Relationship with Key Accounts

  • Works with National Account Managers in building an understanding of how accounts are organized and how decisions are made (ex. what & who drives their decisions) within their organization.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key decision-makers at Liable Accounts and major Divisions of National Distribution Accounts.
  • Facilitates the development and strengthening of relationships between Corteva and Distribution Accounts at various levels within each organization.

Aligns CU and Account Objectives, Strategies and Execution

  • Collaborates with National Account Managers & Commercial Units to lead the development and implementation (including communication) of Account Plans for the Distribution Accounts which advance the objectives of both Corteva and the Account.
  • Is responsible for developing and delivering Quarterly and Annual Purchase Targets and Sales Objectives which are aligned with Corteva Financial Targets for assigned Accounts.
  • Ensures Account rapidly adopts new technologies.
  • Facilitates cross-CU development and implementation of Commercial Programs with Account to optimize results.
  • Monitors progress and manages the execution of Account financial metrics (Revenue, Gross Margin, Investment) as well as market share objectives with Account.

Develop and Enhance Personal Capabilities

  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of Corteva Portfolio strategies.
  • Continues to develop professionally by remaining current with new industry trends.
  • Remains current on sales management innovations and developments.

Collaborates and Supports other Functions

  • Works in cross-functional teams with Sales and Marketing team members, including:
    • Commercial Unit, Area and District Leaders
    • Marketing Managers
    • Programs Manager
    • Regional Account Managers
    • National Account Managers
    • National Accounts Leader 6.S.
  • Creates cross-platform opportunities for Crop Protection, Seeds, & Range/Pasture with Account.

Requirements:

  • Required: BS in Agronomy (or equivalent), Marketing, Business or other related fields with demonstrated knowledge of agricultural markets.
  • Minimum of 8 years of marketing and/or sales experience with demonstrated ability in consultative selling and negotiation is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with CEOs, COOs, CFO 2s of Accounts.
  • Broad geographic and cross-functional experience is a competitive advantage.
  • Ability to travel extensively, located near an airport for ease of travel to account locations.
  • Strong people leadership skills.
  • Keep in mind, equivalent amounts of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.

The salary range for this position is $144,550.00 to $180,690.00.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
