  • Maintain cost controls and oversee departmental budgets.
  • Collaborate with site leaders including Extraction and Maintenance Superintendents and the Plant Manager.
  • Build and lead a high-performance team through coaching and accountability.
  • Champion safety culture and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Refinery Superintendent - Windsor Ontario

Position Type Operations
Salary Regular, Full-Time
Compensation $95,000.00 CAD to $142,800.00 CAD based on experience.
Position is eligible for an annual bonus incentive, payout is based on company and individual performance.

Position Summary

The Refinery Superintendent is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of refinery operations at the Windsor Processing Plant. This includes day-to-day management, long-term strategic planning, safety and environmental stewardship, and team development. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence, while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production
  • Lead refinery operations for soybean and canola oil processing, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production.
  • Drive performance excellence initiatives and continuous improvement across all departments.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures, training programs, and capital improvement plans.
  • Maintain cost controls and oversee departmental budgets.
  • Collaborate with Extraction Superintendent, Maintenance Superintendent, Plant Manager, and other site leaders.

Leadership & People Development
  • Build and lead a high-performance team through coaching, training, and accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety-first work environment.
  • Manage personnel in a unionized environment with fairness and consistency.

Safety, Environmental & Food Safety
  • Champion ADM's safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and food safety regulations.
  • Lead by example in safety practices and behaviors.
  • Prepare for and participate in audits (regulatory, third-party, customer, internal).
  • Maintain sanitation and food safety standards at world-class levels.

  • Must read, write and communicate effectively in English, as it is the working language of the facility.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production systems.
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions and meet physical requirements (e.g., climbing, lifting, confined spaces).
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment will be considered as a strong asset.
