Full Job Description
Join our Legal team as a Records & Information Officer, where you will play a key role in privacy, information governance, and records management. This position is responsible for ensuring corporate records and information are managed effectively, securely, and in compliance with PavCo's requirements.

In this key role reporting to PavCo's General Counsel, you will lead the administration and continuous improvement of our Records and Information Management (RIM) program while supporting our organization meet its obligations under BC's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). You will also support PavCo in its privacy and regulatory compliance initiatives.

You communicate succinctly with clarity and purpose, exercise judgement, and have the confidence to make well-informed decisions within your area of expertise.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate and manage Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in accordance with FIPPA.
  • Support General Counsel on privacy matters, FOI responses, inquiries, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Provide guidance and advice to leaders and employees on privacy, access to information, and information management requirements.
  • Lead Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), ensuring compliance with FIPPA requirements.
  • Provide ongoing training to staff on the appropriate use, storage, and transmission of sensitive data.
  • Manage electronic and physical records systems, including document management platforms and storage solutions.
  • Lead the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the corporate RIM program.
  • Ensure records are managed, retained, and disposed of in compliance with BC's Administrative Records Classification System (ARCS) and Operational Records Classification System (ORCS), legislative requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor contracts following execution to ensure key dates, deadlines, deliverables, renewal periods and other contractual obligations are proactively tracked and addressed. Coordinate corporate policy management processes and support business areas in developing and maintaining policies and procedures.


What You Bring
  • Master's degree in Archival Studies, Records and Information Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in Records and Information Management, Privacy, or Information Governance is an asset.
  • Professional certification in privacy or records management is an asset (e.g., CIPP/C or CRM).
  • 5+ years of experience applying BC FIPPA and related legislation to access requests, records management, and privacy matters.
  • Legal Administration education and experience is considered an asset.
  • IAPP certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing records and information programs in a public sector, regulated, or complex organizational environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of ARCS and ORCS.
  • Experience supporting privacy compliance, access to information requests, and information governance initiatives.
  • Experience working with government ministries, public bodies, or regulatory agencies is considered an asset.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $99,000
  • Offers will be in line with PavCo's internal pay equity and qualified candidate's experience and education.
