Full Job Description
Ice Miller seeks a counsel level attorney to join our Real Estate practice group in Cleveland. Ideal candidates will have several years of experience leading sophisticated commercial real estate transactions from term sheet or letter of intent through closing.

About the Role:

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a nationally recognized team representing developers, investors, lenders, and corporate clients in acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and related business transactions. Ideal candidates will bring strong drafting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage transactions independently.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, development agreements, title documents, closing documents, and other real estate agreements
  • Represent clients in acquisitions, dispositions, development, financing, leasing, and related commercial real estate matters
  • Advise on real estate issues arising in mergers, acquisitions, private equity investments, and other business transactions
  • Conduct and manage due diligence, including review of title, survey, zoning, environmental, and property-level matters
  • Support development projects across asset classes, including residential, mixed-use, healthcare, senior housing, industrial, retail, and office
  • Negotiate construction, development, and project-related agreements while helping clients manage real estate risk
  • Structure, negotiate, and document mortgage, construction, bridge, mezzanine, and other real estate financing arrangements

Requirements:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • At least eight (8) years of relevant real estate legal experience
  • Active law license in Ohio
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and business judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States
