Full Job Description
The Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineer supports facility maintenance operations at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center by providing technical leadership and exercising full responsibility for all technical, administrative, and coordination functions related to a specific set of assigned systems and program elements (e.g. Reliability Centered Maintenance, Predictive Testing & Inspection, etc.) to ensure that they meet customer and user expectations in system performance, operability, reliability, quality, and schedule requirements.

Provide technical directions to technicians, engineers, inspectors, contractors, and others in the maintenance, repair, remanufacture, troubleshooting, and operation of assigned systems on a continuing or real time basis. Technical direction may also include being a console operator of a large operation directly supporting test operations; and controlling electrical power, HVAC, heavy equipment, or other critical hardware and utilities. Provide leadership and coordination for troubleshooting, failure analysis, corrective action(s), and report preparation for accidents or failures. Provide, monitor, and control the performance of corrective actions. Provide leadership, training and coordination to nurture a culture of Reliability Centered Maintenance philosophy which permeates all staffing levels, and which enhances the entire maintenance program. Develop successful applications of advanced Predictive Testing and Inspection technologies to realize significant cost savings for planned maintenance activities. Ensure that all operations are performed safely. This responsibility is constant and continuous from the conceptual design of systems, through procurement, activation, modification, and daily operations. Safe operations include compliance with applicable regulations and also includes knowledgeable, documented, and approved deviations from regulations based on sound technical analysis and judgment. Perform and/or review detailed technical analyses including, for example, chemical process development and modification; cost and option analysis; thermal or electrical load analyses; fluid flow analyses; structural analyses; operational assessment and compliance analysis; functional and compatibility analysis; and others. Assign and prepare technical documentation that identifies the need for, cost evaluation of specifications, for activation of functional and safety analyses, of maintenance of and operator training for the specific set of assigned equipment or requirements for new equipment assigned to the group. Provide scheduling, status, and coordination functions within Amentum, the Government and other contractors for projects assigned to the group. Status, monitor, report, and control the operational use of assigned systems including compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, the Armed Services and NASA regulations. Responsible for participating in safety and environmental protection programs, and reduction of costs and the energy for operations and maintenance.

Bachelor degree in a related engineering discipline and eight (8) years experience in facilities and/or utilities maintenance or MS degree in a related engineering discipline and six (6) years related experience in facilities and/or utilities maintenance. Equivalent education/experience is applicable. Thorough working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management systems (CMMS) is preferred. Must possess a thorough working knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program elements. Must possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex engineering information and terminology. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. The capability to communicate technical and related budgetary and planning information, both verbally and in writing. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.

Compensation Details:
90,000.00
