Context
We’re looking for a Rail Transit Systems Project Manager in our Power and Systems Group to help drive the objectives and challenges our valued clients have trusted us to solve for them. You will be assigned to our San Jose, CA project office.
As a Project Manager you will join a world-class team of high-performing engineers, designers, drafters and others who work collectively to ensure client projects continue to thrive while remaining on track and budget.
Missions/Main Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead coordination of multidisciplinary teams across engineering, architecture, systems, utilities, and construction.
- Manage subconsultants and maintain effective interfaces with contractors and key suppliers.
- Oversee fast-track schedules and phased design package development and delivery.
- Support cost control efforts and constructability reviews during the design process.
- Coordinate RFIs, design reviews, approvals, and change management activities.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Administer scope management and change order management processes.
- Prepare and manage executive reporting and support project governance requirements.
- Facilitate collaboration among the owner, designer, contractor, and other project partners.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, agency leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders.
- Support public meetings, stakeholder engagement, and agency coordination activities.
- Resolve conflicts proactively and make timely, informed project decisions.
- Maintain quality, safety, and client satisfaction throughout project delivery.
- Ensure all deliverables comply withSYSTRAQuality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent work experience
- Experience on US based transit and rail projects
- Project Management Professional (PMP)Certification
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Project Manager on electrical, transit and rail based projects
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and external partners.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, including budget, schedule, scope, and risk management.
- Experience managing RFIs, design approvals, change management, and change orders.
- Understanding of contractual risk allocation in design-build agreements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Experience supporting client coordination, agency interface, and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and high standards of project delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- DBIA Certification
- Demonstrated experience managing complex infrastructure or design-build projects
- Public sector clients such as transit agencies, municipalities, or DOTs

Salary Range: $175,000-215,000, SYSTRA USA is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
