Description:
In this position, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications.
Responsibilities include transferring patients for examinations and using ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
The technologist also assists with the x-ray examination process.
Essential duties include performing diagnostic x-ray procedures.
The technologist is responsible for the appropriate operation of all x-ray imaging and related equipment.
They are expected to educate, position, immobilize, and perform x-ray procedures accurately.
The technologist coordinates x-ray examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
They must understand and follow provider imaging orders correctly.
This position requires submitting required images and related clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretation.
Evaluating image quality appropriately is another key responsibility.
Open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership is essential.
The technologist utilizes, charges, and maintains department supplies as necessary.
Practicing sterile technique and following infection prevention policies is required.
The ability to handle multiple tasks or projects and meet deadlines is important.
Safely performing x-ray procedures, including patient transfer, is expected.
They prepare and administer contrast according to Radiologist protocol.
Following radiation safety measures (ALARA) to ensure patient and staff safety is critical.
Additionally, the technologist supervises and evaluates student radiographers in the clinical setting.
