Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved Radiologic Technology program with ARRT certification
• NYS license or ability to obtain it before starting
• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Recent operating room (OR) experience at a Level 1 trauma center
• Experience using C-arm/O-arm in the past 8 months
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to report to on-call shifts within 30 minutes
• Physical ability to lift or move patients and stand for long periods
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Patient and compassionate personality
• Team player in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identity and review physician orders prior to x-ray procedures
• Use x-ray equipment to capture images of patients' anatomy as directed by physicians
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address their inquiries
• Position and assist limited mobility patients during x-ray imaging
• Handle radiologic equipment safely, minimizing patient exposure to radiation
• Observe and interpret patient-specific needs during the imaging process
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
• Notify management of equipment issues promptly
• Utilize electronic patient information systems for record keeping and image management
• Ensure accurate patient identification and image submission to PACS
