Job Summary The CT Supervisor provides operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for afternoon and evening CT services across multiple Michigan Medicine ambulatory imaging locations. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient department operations, maintaining high-quality patient care, supporting staff performance and development, and promoting a positive work environment. The supervisor serves as a resource for technologists, providers, and support staff while ensuring compliance with departmental, regulatory, and safety standards
Responsibilities*Operational Leadership- Oversee daily CT operations during afternoon and evening hours.
- Coordinate staffing assignments, patient flow, and workflow management to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Monitor exam volumes, turnaround times, and patient wait times, implementing adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with scheduling, nursing, radiologists, and other departments to optimize patient access and throughput.
- Assist with after-hours operational issues and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Assist with operational planning, resource management, and budget-related initiatives.
- Coordinate resolution of CT equipment, technical, and operational issues in collaboration with vendors, engineering, and IT support teams.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable union agreements and consistently apply contractual obligations, departmental policies, and organizational standards to staffing, employee relations, and leadership decisions.
- Assist with departmental budget planning, capital equipment planning, and operational improvement initiatives.
Staff Supervision and Development- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to CT technologists and support staff.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and retention efforts.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback for professional growth.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and a culture of respect and inclusion.
- Ensure staff adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and attendance standards.
- Coordinate staffing, assignments, schedules, and workflows to support safe, efficient, patient-centered care and meet changing patient-volume demands.
- Monitor employee competency, certification, mandatory education, and compliance requirements, ensuring staff maintain all required credentials.
Quality and Patient Safety- Promote safe imaging practices and adherence to radiation safety principles.
- Lead and support quality improvement, workflow optimization, and process improvement initiatives.
- Address and resolve patient, provider, and staff concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Investigate and follow up on patient safety events, operational concerns, and quality issues.
- Support protocol standardization and best practice implementation.
- Lead and support accreditation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance activities, including ACR, Joint Commission, and organizational quality standards.
Clinical Support- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to CT technologists.
- Assist with complex patient situations, protocol questions, and workflow challenges.
- Support implementation of new technology, equipment, and clinical initiatives.
- Collaborate with radiologists and protocol teams to maintain high-quality imaging standards.
- Partner with radiologists, protocol teams, and operational leadership to support CT protocol standardization, imaging best practices, and workflow optimization initiatives.
- Support MiChart/Epic optimization efforts, workflow improvements, and implementation of new imaging technologies and processes.
Communication and Collaboration- Facilitate effective communication between leadership, staff, providers, and other stakeholders.
- Lead shift huddles and communicate operational updates.
- Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork and patient-centered care.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and leadership initiatives.
- Represent CT operations in departmental meetings, committees, and interdisciplinary work groups, collaborating with internal and external partners to advance organizational goals.
Required Qualifications*- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required.
- ARRT certification in Radiography and advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive CT experience.
- Demonstrated leadership, team coordination, or supervisory experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prioritize workload, analyze operational challenges, and implement effective solutions.
Desired Qualifications*- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
- Experience managing operations across multiple locations.
- Experience in a unionized healthcare environment.
- Experience with staff scheduling, staffing management, and workforce planning.
- Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements, including ACR and Joint Commission standards.
- Experience with Epic/MiChart and healthcare workflow optimization.
- Experience leading quality improvement, patient safety, or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience participating in budget planning, capital planning, or equipment implementation projects.

Work ScheduleThe primary schedule for this position is
Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Work hours may vary based on departmental and operational needs. Alternative schedules may be considered; however, the position is expected to provide coverage primarily during afternoon and evening hours. Occasional weekend support may also be required.
