As a Clinical Engineering Supervisor, you will play an integral role in balancing technical expertise with staffing, prioritization, training, performance management, vendor relationships, regulatory requirements, and collaboration with clinicians. You will directly supervise and coordinate daily clinical engineering activities for assigned systems, equipment, personnel, and areas.

A caregiver in this position works 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. + on-call rotation for weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Direct supervisory responsibility for assigned caregivers including scheduling, direction, productivity, evaluation and development.
  • Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment.
  • Act as a liaison with customers and vendors including relationship building, service planning, coordination and service recovery.
  • Lead projects and initiatives.


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Three years of clinical engineering or medical device experience.
  • A high school diploma/GED, specialized or military experience and 5 years of experience in clinical engineering may substitute the education and experience requirements.


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET).
  • Leadership experience
  • 2 years of supervisor/work lead experience in a technical discipline


Physical Requirements:
  • Typical physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to climb an 8-foot ladder and work on overhead equipment.
  • Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical and electrical parts.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire identification and read finely printed schematic drawings


Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
