Salary Details

The salary range for this position is CAD $40.19/Hr. - CAD $50.20/Hr.

Job Summary

Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the department across the Lower Mainland Medical Imaging (LMMI) health authorities (Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services and Vancouver Coastal Health). Performs additional procedures/techniques and related duties within the Operating Rooms in accordance with departmental policy and procedures, observing safe radiation protection practices. Duties include performing diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging examinations during surgery as specified by the surgeon, assisting the surgeon in fluoroscopic procedures during surgery, entering relevant data into the radiology information system, operating radiographic and computerized imaging equipment including processing radiographs and archiving of acquired data, monitoring patient during procedures, and monitoring equipment performance.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Certification with the CAMRT.
  • A minimum of one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the aseptic techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for general radiology, fluoroscopic and interventional procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with radiology equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of imaging acquisition applications and digital imaging storage and distribution networks such as PACS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research process and methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.
  • General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized patient care information system.
