Job DescriptionThe Radiological Controls Shift Lead I (Supervisory Radiological Controls Technician) for ECF Fuel Storage and Containers provide leadership and mentoring for their team. The Shift Lead serves as a subject matter expert for Radiological Controls Operations and assists management in preparing their team for work execution and ensuring technical compliance with radiological program requirements and standards.
Essential duties for the position include:
- Supports timely and correct execution of radiological work including planning, training, and oversight.
- Assists management in ensuring the workforce is ready and capable to conduct required tasks.
- Assists management in assigning personnel to accomplish radiological work tasks.
- Maintains knowledge of local, NNPP, and Federal radiological regulations.
- Maintains processes to ensure that work tasks are executed according to established procedures for radiological, environmental, safety, industrial hygiene and criticality controls.
- Responsible for the safety of the workers under their supervision.
- Responsible for training program development for the work team.
- Mentors and coaches RCTs during day-to-day operations.
- Participates in local and Site casualty response as a leader including the maintenance of applicable skills and qualifications.
- Communicates work and work issues clearly to management and Naval Reactors Local Field Office.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill- High school diploma or equivalent and RCTQS qualified with the ability to qualify as a SRCT or currently SRCT qualified and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or
- High school diploma or equivalent and qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent) and RCTQS qualified with the ability to qualify as a SRCT or currently SRCT qualified and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university and RCTQS qualified with the ability to qualify as a SRCT or currently SRCT qualified and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and RCTQS qualified with the ability to qualify as a SRCT or currently SRCT qualified and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills- Experience in ECF/SFP Production, or other Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (or similar high-performance) radiological environments.

Pay Range$95,700.00 - $149,600.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
