Job Summary
• In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Radiation Oncology Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the Radiation Oncology Department including: treatment, simulation, manpower utilization, quality of patient care delivery, cost effective utilization of available resources.
• Responsible for implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements for Radiation Oncology.
• Maintains accurate treatment records.
• Performs a variety of technical and non-technical tasks and direct patient care activities requiring independent judgment and initiative. Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
• Education: Graduate of an approved Radiation Oncology Technology program
• Licensure / Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
• Valid State of Ohio Radiological license, required.
• Current BLS certification, required.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years recent and relevant supervisory experience in a Radiation Oncology Department, preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Leadership qualities and human relations skills necessary to work with patients, staff, managers, and physicians.
• Able to perform professional duties with minimal supervision.
• Computer literate with attention to detail.
• Possesses a high level of professionalism and the ability to establish good rapport with patients, staff and physicians.
• Has working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and State Regulations.
• Compassion and the ability to care for the terminally ill.
• Ability to travel to multiple work and/or business sites.

• In conjunction with Director, Radiation Oncology, responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, developing, directing and evaluating employees, data reporting; consulting; and education relating to Radiation Oncology.
• Participates in the department PI, Risk Management and Organizational Integrity programs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Communicates pertinent clinical information to appropriate members of the patient care team and department personnel.
• Keeps patient/family appraised/updated.
• Responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks and direct patient care activities requiring independent judgement and initiative.
• Responsible for performing a variety of non-technical tasks and indirect patient care activities.
• Takes responsibility to facilitate improvements in patient services, staff/physician relationships.
• Documents, accurately and completely, pertinent assessment, interventions and outcomes and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
