OPPORTUNITY
You will define and execute the long-term commercial vision for an important market at the product-line level, while leading business-development planning and growth initiatives. You will own customer development and sales execution for the Reuter-Stokes Radiation Monitoring portfolio, including neutron and gamma detection technologies supporting homeland security, nuclear safeguards, and neutron scattering.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Market Strategy and Business Development - Develop the market vision, strategic account priorities, and business-development plan for the assigned geography and customer portfolio. Translate market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and product-line strategy into actionable growth plans and account objectives.
• Sales Growth and Commercial Performance - Sell products, services, parts, solutions, and projects across the Reuter-Stokes Radiation Monitoring portfolio, including neutron and gamma detection technologies. Drive orders and convertibility while meeting or exceeding sales and profitability targets. Develop qualified leads, expand the customer portfolio, advance opportunities, and build sustainable backlog and volume growth.
• Customer and Key Account Leadership - Develop strong, influential relationships across assigned customer organizations, including government agencies, national laboratories, research institutions, security-system integrators, original equipment manufacturers, and other organizations involved in homeland security, nuclear safeguards, and neutron-scattering research. Build a detailed understanding of each customer's mission, technical requirements, procurement processes, program priorities, and support expectations. Use these relationships to anticipate needs, improve customer outcomes, support account retention, and identify new opportunities.
• Technical Sales and Solution Development - Apply thorough technical knowledge of radiation monitoring, neutron and gamma detection, and helium-3 neutron-sensing technology to guide customer discussions. Help customers select appropriate technology, develop specifications, address technical issues, and connect application and operating requirements with product capabilities and accurate operating parameters. Coordinate factory technical support when additional product or application expertise is required.
• Opportunity, Pricing, and Deal Execution - Lead opportunities from qualification through order entry in coordination with Commercial Operations and other stakeholders. Support solution configurations, pricing, negotiation, and closure while maintaining focus on value, profitability, execution feasibility, and customer commitments. Ensure Inquiry-to-Order and Order-to-Remittance teams have current and accurate opportunity information.
• Forecasting and Sales Discipline - Maintain accurate account, pipeline, order, and sales forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Keep CRM and required sales reports current, identify forecast risks and conversion gaps, and implement recovery actions where needed.
• Market Intelligence and Voice of the Customer - Continuously monitor market conditions, competitors, customer strategies, government and research-sector priorities, operating factors, and radiation-detection technology trends. Provide reliable market intelligence and the voice of the customer to support product, investment, pricing, new-product introduction, and other business decisions.
• Cross-Functional Leadership - Connect and coordinate with Product Line Management, Engineering, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality, Services, and other functional teams to achieve growth objectives. Coordinate factory technical support, customer specifications, product support needs, repairs, warranty matters, and other execution requirements.
• Travel - Travel as required to maintain customer coverage, support opportunities, and execute responsibilities across the assigned geography.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
• Technical Sales Experience - Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, including demonstrated success in technical sales, account management, or business development involving highly engineered products, instrumentation, detection systems, nuclear technologies, or comparable technical solutions.
• Radiation Monitoring and Detection Knowledge - Knowledge of radiation monitoring and detection technologies, including neutron and gamma detection systems, helium-3 neutron-sensing technology, associated instrumentation, and relevant customer applications.
• Technical & Commercial Acumen - Demonstrated ability to combine technical expertise with commercial sales skills to understand customer operating requirements and develop value-based product and solution recommendations.
• Customer Development & Deal Execution - Proven success building customer relationships, generating opportunities, negotiating contracts, closing business, and delivering revenue and profitability objectives.
• Forecasting & Business Analytics - Strong forecasting, pipeline-management, analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to drive disciplined opportunity management and business planning.
• Communication & Presentation Skills - Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customer, technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
• Influence & Cross-Functional Leadership - Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence cross-functional teams, align stakeholders, and lead programs or projects without direct authority.
PREFERRED
• Radiation Detection Technologies - Direct experience with neutron and gamma radiation-detection technologies, helium-3 neutron-sensing technology, radiation-monitoring instrumentation, or related detection and measurement systems.
• Target Market Experience - Demonstrated experience developing business and customer relationships in one or more relevant markets, including homeland security, nuclear safeguards, national laboratories, neutron-scattering research, nuclear power, and security-system integration.
• Business Development and Account Growth - Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, market penetration, and strategic customer relationships with government agencies, research institutions, nuclear-industry customers, system integrators, original equipment manufacturers, or other technically sophisticated customer organizations.
• Commercial Negotiation & Deal Execution - Experience structuring, pricing, negotiating, and closing complex technical product, service, technology, and solution opportunities while balancing growth, risk, and profitability objectives.
• Product Strategy & Market Development - Experience with strategic planning, product marketing, product positioning, market analysis, or new-product introduction initiatives that support commercial growth and customer adoption.
• Commercial & Operational Leadership - Strong process discipline, customer focus, commercial judgment, integrity, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CRM & Sales Analytics - Proficiency with Salesforce.com or comparable CRM platforms, including pipeline management, opportunity tracking, forecasting, reporting, and sales-performance analytics.
