Title:
Radar Systems Analyst

Job Summary

KBR is seeking an early career Radar Systems Analyst to join our team at our Huntsville, AL, location. As a Radar Systems Analyst, you will provide comprehensive support to Department of War customers to develop radar technologies for integration into air and missile defense system of system architectures.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data reduction and analysis tools in Matlab to support the analysis of sensor performance data.
  • Perform analysis of system data for defined functions, objectives, and/or requirements.
  • Perform deep dive analysis on system data to determine why functions do not meet defined objectives and requirements.
  • Support and contribute to technical interchange meetings (TIMs), program reviews, and integration and test working groups, providing analytical insight and recommendations.
  • Assist in the creation of technical documentation (report, plan, technical briefs, etc.).
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to government stakeholders to support model accreditation and decision-making.


Basic Qualifications
  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or applicable STEM degree with approximately 2-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Understanding of programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, and/or C++.
  • Exposure to object-oriented programming.
  • Fundamental understanding of physical optics, electromagnetic radiation, and/or radar systems and radar performance principles.
  • Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on prescribed schedules.
  • Able to travel 15-20% of the time. Travel percentages may vary based on customer requirements.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with radar hardware, radar architecture, and/or signal processing.
  • 1+ years of experience with Air and Missile Defense systems, data analysis, Flight/Ground tests and system modeling and simulation and/or sensor performance analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for technical documentation and presentations.
  • Understanding of Digital Engineering practices and ability to use MBSE tooling and concepts.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and author accurate written materials to clearly and concisely communicate information.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of program operations requirements.
  • Understanding systems engineering and data analysis methodologies, including development of sound testing methods and applicable criteria, requirements management, and analysis functions, including crosswalks and traceability between M&S and weapons systems.
