Leidos' Defense Sensor is seeking a
Radar Sustainment Engineer to join our team supporting the full lifecycle sustainment of fielded radar systems. In this role, you will troubleshoot fielded hardware and software issues, support obsolescence and reliability efforts, and work closely with logistics, depot, and field service teams to keep radar systems mission-ready
Occasional travel will be required to support fielded units, depot facilities, and customer test sites. You will work closely with systems engineering, integrated logistics support, and field service teams to resolve technical issues affecting radar system availability and performance, support root cause analysis of hardware and software anomalies, contribute to engineering change proposals, and help plan hardware refresh and obsolescence mitigation efforts to keep fielded systems mission-ready throughout their operational life.
Primary Responsibilities- Troubleshoot radar hardware in the field, connecting test equipment and taking measurements to isolate faults.
- Analyze collected field data to determine root cause, or route issues to the appropriate engineering subject matter expert (SME).
- Support field test events as an operator, analyst, and customer interface as needed.
- Perform near field measurements and radar front-end health diagnostics on fielded systems.
- Travel to delivered radar sites to perform hardware and software updates.
- Apply understanding of basic radar tracking and signal processing principles to support troubleshooting and analysis.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering plus 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience in radar systems required (military service is not required).
- Experience troubleshooting hardware in the field, including connecting test equipment and taking measurements.
- Understanding of basic radar tracking and signal processing principles.
- Willingness and ability to travel to delivered radar sites to support hardware/software updates and field test events.
- Must be a US citizen possess and able to maintain an active Secret clearance.
- Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Al area.
Preferred Qualifications- Proficiency with analysis toolsets such as MATLAB or Python.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data to determine root cause or route issues to the appropriate engineering SME.
- Experience performing near field measurements and radar front-end health diagnostics.
- Experience supporting field test events as an operator, analyst, or customer interface

Pay Range:Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
