As a Rotational hire in the Aerospace, Defense & Marine Business Unit, your role on the R&D/Product Development Engineering team will focus on designing and developing robust, optimized interconnect solutions for demanding aerospace and defense environments while meeting customer, regulatory, and sustainability requirements. The role provides exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from market definition through production release.
Responsibilities
As an R&D/Product Development Rotational Engineer on the North America Connectors team within the Aerospace, Defense & Marine business unit, you will:
Apply Engineering fundamentals and principles such as material science, mechanics of materials, and electrical theory to real world product environments.
Conduct engineering analysis and simulation (FEA, tolerance analysis, stress analysis) to assess and refine designs.
Leverage manufacturing technologies to develop prototypes to accelerate design iteration
Develop and execute product validation and qualification plans (DVT, QTP), including mechanical, environmental, vibration, shock, thermal, and life-cycle testing.
Collaborate with global cross functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, reliable, and cost effective. (Product management, manufacturing, quality and supply chain)
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product performance, qualification or manufacturing issues.
Drive innovation through new connector architectures, materials, termination technologies, and patented design concepts to improve performance and reliability.
Strengthen professional capabilities in technical communication, problem-solving, and project execution within a fast-paced, innovation-driven engineering environment.
You're the kind of person we are looking for if you:
Are currently enrolled in, or pursuing, a BA/BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university-or have equivalent work experience (gap year students may also be considered).
Bring internship, major project, or relevant extracurricular engineering experience; preferred.
Have experience with CAD/CAE tools such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or ANSYS.
Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Show initiative, motivation and a professional work ethic.
COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $71,300 - 107,000/year (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
