HALO is seeking a motivated R&D Engineer to assist in optimizing our telemonitoring devices and software. This role offers hands-on experience in hardware diagnostics, system integration, software development and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment of our devices and software.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development & Upgrades
  • Design and implement firmware and software updates for telemonitoring devices, ensuring seamless integration with healthcare systems.
  • Develop and maintain the telemonitoring observation software, enabling real-time video, audio, and sensor data visualization for healthcare providers.
  • Optimize video and audio streaming protocols to improve performance and reduce latency.
  • Enhance user interface (UI) and data dashboards to improve patient monitoring and usability for clinicians.
  • Improve data synchronization between telemonitoring devices and cloud-based health record systems.
  • Ensure compliance with medical data privacy and security regulations (HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Develop diagnostic and self-recovery mechanisms to detect and resolve software anomalies automatically.

Customer Support & Device Deployment
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, liaising with healthcare staff and technicians to ensure smooth deployment and support.
  • Assist in the installation and deployment of telemonitoring devices in healthcare facilities.
  • Provide technical support to healthcare staff and technicians for troubleshooting and device optimization.
  • Document common issues and solutions to enhance support efficiency and improve device reliability.

Data-Driven Insights & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze device performance and usage data to identify areas for improvement and suggest optimizations.
  • Gather feedback from healthcare professionals to inform hardware improvements and future iterations.
  • Create reports on device functionality, uptime, and user experience to support product refinement.

Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with engineering, IT, and clinical teams to ensure telemonitoring solutions meet the needs of healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate customer feedback and technical challenges to internal product and hardware teams.
  • Assist in developing case studies highlighting successful implementations and improvements.

Customer Satisfaction & Retention
  • Conduct routine check-ins with healthcare teams to assess device performance and address any concerns.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve hardware reliability and ease of use.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent technical support and troubleshooting assistance

Hardware Assembly & Troubleshooting
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot telemonitoring hardware including sensors, microcontrollers, and wireless communication modules.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues to ensure device reliability and optimal performance in clinical settings.
  • Work closely with engineers to analyze device failures, suggest improvements, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support firmware updates, sensor calibration, and hardware validation testing.

Hardware Design
  • Design and develop telemonitoring hardware, including sensor integration, PCB layout, and power management solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers to define hardware architecture and ensure seamless integration with software and communication systems.
  • Evaluate and select electronic components to optimize device performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Conduct prototyping, testing, and validation to refine hardware designs before deployment.
  • Work on firmware-hardware interactions, supporting calibration, debugging, and real-world performance testing.
  • Maintain inventory of components and ensure proper quality control procedures
  • Document test procedures, troubleshooting steps, and findings for future reference.
  • Work closely with engineers to analyze device performance and suggest improvements.
