About the position:

E Ink is seeking an R&D Automation Engineer who can explore and invent new technologies to meet the special requirements of display optical performance. This role will also develop and modify equipment for advanced optical measuring systems and advanced e-paper driving systems, as well as implementing automation capabilities into both hardware and software to meet the dynamic needs of advanced research.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and fabricate prototype mechanical components to support a wide range of R&D projects.
  • Design and assemble AC/DC control cabinets for in-house developed R&D tools related to metrology or UV exposure systems.
  • Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Program PLC and HMI for full automation process.
  • Design, build and program the control system.
  • Investigate root causes and conduct a full system analysis
  • Create electrical schematic drawings for R&D tools
  • Interact with vendors in order to build electrical and control parts for in house developed R&D tools


Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' industry experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks software for designing and modeling is preferred.
  • Exhibiting high energy, a self-driven attitude, and a proactive nature, with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent root cause analysis skills, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience in working with electrical contractors and installers
  • Experience in data acquisition and instrument control using LabVIEW, MATLAB, or C (or C++),
  • Assist mechanical and materials engineers in designing processing and characterization equipment or a limited R&D knowledge

Salary Range Disclosure: The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 not including any variable pay. The total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other variable pay components. The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
