OverviewYou will join Deutsche Bank's Global Strats & Analytics group as a Quantitative Strategist within Commodities, with a focus on Energy Markets, particularly in US Power. Based in New York, you will play a key role in expanding the Bank's energy trading capabilities by helping build and shape a new team delivering pricing, risk, and P&L analytics for power and related energy products within the Kannon strategic platform. Working at the intersection of quantitative modeling, C++ software engineering, and front-office trading, you will contribute directly to a growing global commodities franchise while partnering closely with traders, risk managers, and technology teams to influence platform design, drive innovation, and support scalable analytics solutions.
What You'll Do- Partner with trading teams to investigate and resolve daily risk, valuation, and P&L issues
- Design, develop, and implement enhancements to Kannon as a strategic front-office trading platform
- Collaborate with trading, risk, finance, and technology teams to define and deliver scalable analytics and platform solutions
- Continuously improve, optimize, and maintain existing codebases in a dynamic, fast-paced front-office environment
- Support the delivery of strategic initiatives aligned with the continued growth of the global commodities business
How You'll Lead- Build and establish a high-performing commodities quantitative team in New York
- Partner closely with global stakeholders, including trading, risk management, and finance teams
- Drive strategic development of the commodities technology platform alongside global teams
Skills You'll Need- Proven expertise in US Power derivative products and associated pricing and risk frameworks
- Strong programming skills in modern C++ and Python
- Demonstrated experience delivering front-office applications within an investment banking environment
- Advanced quantitative modeling, pricing, and risk management capabilities
- Knowledge of volatility surface construction and calibration techniques

ExpectationsIt is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.
The salary range for this position in New York City is $155,000 to $252,500. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
