Job Description:
Develop and/or analyze quantitative models that assess the market, credit and/or operational risks of new and existing financial and mortgage products or portfolios to support business and risk decisions. Develop strategies to analyze and interpret output of models or analytic applications, which assess things such as relative risks of each product within the portfolio. Plan, execute, and document analysis of complex financial models. May provide portfolio risk assessments based on findings. May provide modeling and analytical assistance to a line of business or product area, functioning as day-to-day technical expert. Evaluate and manage risks associated with the company's models, including models of defaults, security valuation, prepayments, loan scoring and others. May perform detailed model validation reviews, establishing performance thresholds, researching model approaches, creating alternative models and other means. Provide innovative, thorough and practical solutions to an extensive range of demanding problems, including analyses of relative value. Technically and quantitatively oriented with a Master's degree in applied mathematics, economics, finance, engineering, statistics, or computer science. Full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems. Works under normal supervision. Follows established directions. Work is reviewed for accuracy of technical analysis and overall adequacy. Primarily intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters. Multiple open positions. Position may be eligible for part-time telecommuting.
Job Requirements
Master's degree or foreign equivalent* in statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, or closely related quantitative discipline. Must have demonstrated knowledge** of:
using and applying predictive modeling standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques; and programming in SAS, Python or R.

40 hours per week 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM.
Work location: 8200 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, VA 22102.
This position has a prevailing wage range of $108,359.89 to $150,379.84 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
