Purpose of the role

To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities.

Accountabilities
  • Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
  • Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions.
  • In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
  • Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
  • Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.

Join Barclays as a Quantitative Analytics Liquid Financing Prime VP, where you will be working closely with the Equity Finance and Delta 1 desks in developing analytics tools and models to help managing market and counterparty risk as well as optimizing inventory and financial resources. You will also partner with the business to explore and quantify revenue generation opportunities.

To be successful as a Quantitative Analytics Liquid Financing Prime VP, you should have:

  • Experience with Equity products and models
  • Familiar with Calculus, Linear Algebra, and data analysis using AI ML techniques
  • Extensive working knowledge of Python and familiarity with object-oriented programming
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complicated concepts in a simple, non-technical way, to a variety of internal stakeholders
  • A track record of delivering projects and working on multiple initiatives in parallel


Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience working on Equity Financing or Delta 1 desks
  • Knowledge of financial products relevant to the Liquid Financing business, e.g. repo, margin loans, futures, equity options, and equity swaps
  • Experience with optimization methods like linear programming
  • Experience with cross-platform / cross-technology development (Windows/Linux), CI/CD, workflow automation (AWS, Kubernetes), and databases
  • Experience with data visualization tools, interface and libraries (e.g. Jupyter, Dash, Rest API); experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code

Minimum Salary: $150,000

Maximum Salary: $225,000
