Full Job Description
Prolec GE Waukesha is seeking a Quality & Technical Support Leader to support power transformer service operations through technical expertise, quality management, productivity initiatives, and continuous improvement practices. This role will help drive project execution, support failure analysis, establish standard work, improve customer satisfaction, and create service process improvements across power transmission and distribution transformer projects.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:
  • Provide technical support for Operational Excellence initiatives within the Field Services Division.
  • Support the implementation of standardized work processes and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize field service operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and reducing waste, including rework, waiting, overprocessing, transportation, and excess inventory in service operations.
  • Lead technical and field support activities during project execution, including specialized problem solving and failure analysis evaluations.
  • Provide updates on project objectives, performance measures, issues, and risks to senior leadership.
  • Translate the Voice of the Customer into measurable service and quality improvements.
  • Investigate service shortfalls, issues, and customer complaints; recommend and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, Planning, Quality, Service, Components, and outside sales representatives to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Support project management activities, engineering design requirements, special reports, drawing modifications, technical training, and quotation scope development.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of electric utility systems and related equipment, including transformers, load tap changers, high-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, and relay/control systems.

Successful candidates will also have:
  • Strong Microsoft Office and overall computer skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret field test data, verify proper test setup and execution, and ensure results accurately reflect equipment condition and performance.
  • Strong communication, organization, influence, and business skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and guide technicians and team members on new processes and procedures.

Education & Experience

Required qualifications include one of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 1-2 years of utility work experience; or
  • Technical institute graduate with 5+ years of technical experience; or
  • 5-7 years of experience in industrial and/or utility power delivery systems with a focus on quality assurance.

Additional industry experience in power generation, transmission, and distribution is highly valuable, along with extensive related industry experience.

Work Environment

This role operates in both office and manufacturing environments and may include work at remote settings and project sites. May require sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
