The Opportunity The Quality Team Lead • Electrical supports the Quality organization by ensuring electrical products, components, assemblies, and processes consistently meet established quality standards, customer requirements, and company expectations. This role leads day-to-day quality activities, including data analysis, inspections, audits, electrical testing, nonconformance identification, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. The Quality Team Lead works closely with Production, Engineering, and other departments to identify opportunities for improvement, resolve quality issues, and strengthen electrical manufacturing processes.
The position also assists with developing and maintaining quality policies, procedures, work instructions, inspection requirements, and training materials while providing guidance and support to team members. The Quality Team Lead leads by example, promotes a strong culture of quality and safety, and builds positive working relationships across all levels of the organization. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of electrical components and manufacturing processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
What you will do? - Analyze quality data to identify areas of improvement and provide training as needed.
- Conduct quality audits and inspections to identify nonconformance and implement corrective measures.
- Inspect electrical components, assemblies, wiring, and workmanship to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Support electrical testing and verification activities to ensure products meet applicable requirements.
- Collaborate with peers on new policies, procedures, and work instruction recommendations since they may affect other areas of the organization.
- Identify root causes of electrical and manufacturing defects and implement changes to correct and eliminate errors.
- Work with Production and Engineering to investigate electrical quality issues and develop effective corrective actions.
- Provide recommendations to the Quality Director for Quality policies, procedures, work instructions, inspection criteria, and forms.
- Address quality issues to ensure established quality and electrical workmanship standards are upheld.
- Assist with training team members on quality processes, inspection requirements, and electrical workmanship standards.
- Build a positive rapport with employees at all levels of the organization and communicate with team members to solve quality and production problems.
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its core values, and other associates while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance and quality control.
- Proven work experience in quality assurance, quality control, or a similar field, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of electrical components, electrical assemblies, wiring, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work instructions.
- Understanding of electrical inspection, testing, and workmanship requirements.
- Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and customer requirements.
- Experience identifying nonconformances and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead by example with a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, a can-do attitude, good attendance, and a strong focus on quality and safety.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Commitment to continual improvement, effective quality management systems, and safe work practices.
- Excellent data collection, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Understanding of production and work order processes.
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel.
- Physical fitness and strength to regularly lift 30• 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, crouch, and reach.
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.
- May require travel up to 20%.
