Full Job Description
Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Quality Supervisor. This is a full time, on-site position based at our Rumford, RI manufacturing facility.

The Quality Supervisor provides leadership for Receiving Inspection Quality Auditors, ensuring the effective execution of inspection activities and maintaining the integrity of incoming product quality. This role is responsible for overseeing inspection processes, procedures, and work instructions, while driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

The supervisor manages and leads Tier-1 inspection board reviews and Tier-1 meetings, ensuring clear communication of key quality metrics, inspection performance, and critical issues. This includes driving accountability, prioritizing actions, and ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams.The role also oversees Vendor MRB (Material Review Board) activities, ensuring timely disposition of nonconforming material, effective root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. The supervisor works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive supplier quality improvements and minimize incoming defects

Additionally, the Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing the site calibration program, including oversight of calibration systems, coordination with external service providers, and ensuring all measurement and test equipment meet applicable standards and compliance requirements.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
• Lead and supervise Receiving Inspection Quality Auditors to ensure accurate, timely inspection of incoming materials while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and compliance.
• Oversee execution of incoming inspection processes in accordance with approved procedures, engineering drawings, and work instructions to ensure consistent and compliant inspection practices.
• Manage Tier-1 inspection board and lead Tier-1 meetings to communicate key performance metrics, drive accountability, escalate issues, and ensure timely closure of action items.
• Oversee Vendor MRB activities, ensuring timely disposition of nonconforming material, effective root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
• Serve as the primary interface with suppliers and supplier quality teams to resolve quality issues, drive corrective actions, and improve overall supplier performance.
• Optimize receiving inspection and inventory flow to reduce backlog and cycle time while ensuring proper certification, traceability, and conformance to quality and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee CMM operations, including execution and verification of inspection programs based on engineering drawings, CAD models, and customer requirements, ensuring proper integration into manufacturing workflows.
• Manage the site calibration program, including gage control and measurement systems, ensuring all equipment is properly calibrated, certified, and compliant with applicable standards.
• Oversee Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities to ensure accurate, reliable measurement systems and sustained equipment performance.
• Coordinate with third-party calibration providers to ensure timely calibration services and maintain full compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D), leveraging data analytics and systems such as WISPER to enhance process effectiveness, traceability, and audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements, maintaining audit readiness, proper documentation, and full traceability of inspection activities.
• Monitor, analyze, and report inspection and supplier quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, enabling data-driven decision-making.
• Train, coach, and develop inspection personnel to ensure competency, standardization, and continuous skill development across the team.
• Maintain and continuously improve inspection procedures, work instructions, and best practices to ensure clarity, consistency, and effective execution of quality processes.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degre from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in manufacturing, engineering and/or quality assurance
  • Minimum one (1) years team leadership experience (team lead or manager of people experience accepted)
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. a7 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. a7 1158.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Manager Quality /Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification
  • Knowledge of machining, assembly operations, gauging, SPC, APQP, and quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP special processes).
  • Experience with or knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and measurement methods/metrology is highly desirable.


Skills:

  • Proficiency using PC configured with MS Office applications.
  • Understanding of problem solving techniques such as 8D, Relentless Root Cause Analysis, DOE, Six Sigma, Shainin/Red X, etc.
  • Travel 10% or less
