  • Help resolve supplier disputes to maintain production quality.
  • Support employees' development through performance plans and reviews.

The Quality Program Manager (QPM) plays a critical role in The Americas Manufacturing Quality group, acting as the primary lead for ensuring that a specific vehicle program meets all quality targets, from the initial concept phase through launch and into the hands of the customer.

The QPM essentially serves as the "conscience" of the program, balancing the pressures of timing and cost with the absolute requirement for vehicle quality

You will oversee an organization's quality assurance and control systems to ensure that products and services meet established standards. This role involves the development and implementation of quality management systems, procedures, and policies that are crucial for maintaining consistency and reliability.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do...

System Standardization: Lead the implementation and standardization of the Quality Operating System (QOS) across all North American manufacturing sites.

Compliance & Support: Support VO plants in achieving and maintaining ISO/TS16949 compliance. Provide technical and infrastructure support to PTO and VO plants to resolve quality system and product-related issues.

Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary interface with the UAW-Ford Joint Quality Committee to implement joint initiatives and serve as a liaison to the Global Quality Office.

Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze internal/external QPIP (Quality Performance Improvement Plan) indicators, including:
  • GQRS (Global Quality Research System)
  • Warranty data and trends
  • JD Power scores

Strategy Development: Develop and implement new quality strategies and processes (e.g., sticker review, 0-100) and drive the standardization of GQIP (Global Quality Improvement Process).

Conflict Resolution: Assist in the resolution of supplier disputes to ensure production quality is not compromised.

People Development: Support personnel requirements by developing SMART objectives, LDEPs (Leadership Development Excellence Plans), and IDPs (Individual Development Plans), and conducting performance reviews.

Qualifications

You'll Have...
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required (BS in Engineering preferred)
  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing quality
  • Analytical Skills: Working knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and process capability; ability to analyze complex performance trends and formulate data-driven thoughts.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage large-scale projects and present effectively to upper management.
  • Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for interfacing with global partners and union leadership.
  • Travel: up to 25%
