Full Job Description
Quality Planning Working Lead responsible for leading the Quality Planning and Quality Documentation teams, ensuring effective and timely development of Zero-Defect Planning (ZDP), inspection strategies, quality plans, and supporting documentation. This role ensures customer and internal quality requirements are met through effective planning, risk management, process compliance, and continuous improvement.

The Quality Planning Working Lead coordinates with Quality Engineering, Inspection, Manufacturing, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality plans effectively support data collection and inspection requirements. The position also supports the development and implementation of PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA, FAIR, SPC, Gage R&R, Control Plans, and other quality tools and documentation.

The role is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Planning process, supporting quality planning software, resolving process and documentation issues, providing training, and ensuring effective use of quality plans throughout inspection and production operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or other formal process improvement experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Zero-Defect Planning (ZDP), quality planning, inspection processes, and quality documentation.
  • Working knowledge of CMM programming and inspection requirements.
  • Knowledge of AS9102, AS13002, PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, AQL sampling, Capability Studies, and Gage R&R.
  • Ability to interpret statistical and SPC data and apply statistical methods to address machining and process variation.
  • Ability to develop, review, and maintain quality plans, FMEAs, PPAP documentation, FAIRs, inspection plans, and related quality documents.
  • Strong problem-solving, risk management, organizational, and process improvement skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lead, train, and hold team members accountable for quality planning activities and deliverables.
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and interact with inspection and production personnel.
  • Proficiency with quality planning software and the ability to work with internal and external resources to resolve software-related challenges.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and perform duties with minimal supervision.
