Full Job Description
Job Summary: Implements quality and lean improvement policies, assurance processes and quality programs set by corporate quality. The incumbent will ensure that the company's Quality Assurance audit program, additional training programs and company procedures are relevant and enforced. PLI quality assurance ensures a high level of production quality due to strict attention to every stage of the process.

  • With guidance from the Director, develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a quality plan that ensures that the site's Quality systems and policies are compliant with PLI Quality System requirements.
  • Manage all quality auditing, testing, and inspection.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams and production area leads to ensure established quality levels are met, and procedures are being carried out appropriately and efficiently. Clearly communicate quality goals and objectives.
  • Manage incoming material testing. Work with management team and purchasing to resolve issues caused by bad stock received from supplier or manufacturer using NCMT reports. Assist in maintaining product supply.
  • Effectively interact with departments to help introduce new products/processes to employees.
  • Manage Quality Supervisor and Team to support daily quality tasks.
  • Maintain quality systems to ensure adherence to customer's CTQs (Critical to Quality).
  • Quantify and report defect levels for each department (in process) and finished product (final or open box audit). Gather and analyze data and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reporting as required.
  • CAPA - Seek out corrective actions / preventive measures for other departments on internal/external issues. Work within the Company's QMS system to document and manage CA reports.
  • Schedule and lead audits and training sessions to address gaps in the process.
  • Track reprint and scrap level from all departments and report on trends and root causes.
  • Gather and analyze data and submit weekly and monthly quality reporting as required.
  • Maintain testing equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Complete Gage R&R on testing equipment annually.
  • Attend conference calls with clients to professionally discuss Quality issues as required.
  • Control/maintain and revise procedures, work instructions, and forms; work with department leads to train on changed or new documents.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Director

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in a Quality Supervisory level or higher
  • 5+ years in a Quality Engineer level or higher preferred
  • 4-year degree or 2-year degree with 5 years of experience at supervisory level or higher
  • Quality Engineer degree or higher is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to directly interact with all levels internally and externally
  • Ability to effectively communicate and delegate. Must be a team leader.
  • Problem-solving; ability to propose a solution, plan, and execute
  • Process Engineering skills:
    • Ability to analyze a process and suggest improvement(s)
    • Ability to conduct Gage and Capability studies
    • Design and implement sampling plans and be able to understand and appropriately communicate the results.
  • Computer skills - database query and data management to include spreadsheet design with formulas. MS Office proficiency - query database and format into statistical report.
  • Math skills - includes understanding of statistical analysis and DOE
  • SSGB or LSSGB training - SSBB or LSBB is a plus.
  • Minitab statistical software experience
