Job description
Summary of Job Purpose:
Manages, directs and coordinates activities of the Quality Assurance department to support the business unit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reports the Quality Management System metrics to business leadership team and parent company VP of Quality.
• Maintains an effective quality management system in liaison with the company divisions and in compliance with the requirements of AS9100, FAA Part 21 and Part 145 (including EASA special conditions for dual-release), and additional requirements requested by customers.
• Identifying customer and authorities' requirements and ensure compliance.
• Conducts audits to assess the operation of the quality system and manage quality reviews.
• Promote and support continuous improvement actions and making best practices widely applicable internally and to suppliers.
• Ensuring supplier quality (assessment, audit, quality performances).
• Oversee compliance of inspection, measuring and test equipment (metrology, calibration).
• Reporting and overseeing incidents and non-conformities. Monitoring corrective and preventive actions internally and with suppliers.
• Establish good working relationship with the Safran Quality community, customers, customer audits, AS9100 auditors and FAA auditors.
• Communicates and coordinates with Safran Power Units Toulouse on companywide quality projects and initiatives.
• Provides direction and examples for interpretation of quality policies and procedures.
• Supports assigned Internal Auditor duties as needed.
• Add to all manager roles: Participate in continuous monitoring of internal controls where necessary and ensure compliance.
Scopes and Accountabilities:
• 8+ years' experience of Quality Management in aerospace, aviation or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Manage Workforce: 4-5 employees
• This position may assist other areas where there is a leadership vacancy.

Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of AS9100 Rev D quality systems and FAA regulations.
• Must be able to solve problems while meeting multiple deadlines.
• Must have high degree of initiative and be able to work independently to manage and complete projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess strong leadership.
• Must have excellent attention to detail.
• Effectively present information and respond well to questions.
• Current certification as an internal auditor to AS9100 Rev D, highly desired.
• Proficient use of Microsoft office, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of GD&T a plus.
• Ability to travel domestic and international, 0-5%.
