Program Summary

KBR's Exploration & Logistics (E&L) business unit delivers mission-critical solutions supporting global defense, federal civilian, logistics, engineering, and space exploration missions. E&L provides integrated capabilities across logistics and sustainment, mission operations, engineering services, readiness and modernization programs, scientific research support, and exploration initiatives in some of the world's most complex and challenging environments.

The business unit supports customers across the Department of Defense, federal civilian agencies, and commercial partners, delivering innovative solutions that enhance mission readiness, operational effectiveness, and long-term mission success.

Job Summary

The Quality Manager will optimize project execution by ensuring services meet the established quality standards, including reliability, usability, and performance. They will lead the development and implementation of quality management systems to ensure the highest standards of excellence. They will uphold KBR's values of Zero Harm, Integrity, and Teamwork, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This position is contingent upon award of the contract.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Establish and update the Quality Management (QM) Plan detailing the QMS methodology, policy, objectives, training, procedures, and oversight of subcontracted work.
  • Implement assessment-driven corrective and preventive actions and necessary process adjustments in a timely manner to eliminate problems throughout all operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all work processes, procedures, quality inspections, surveillance results, and corrective/preventive actions. Ensure the file is available to the Government and submitted upon contract completion/termination.
  • Prepare and submit the Contractor Quality Inspection and Surveillance Report monthly (or as directed by the KO) detailing events, results, corrective actions taken, and management process adjustments
  • Support development and implementation of quality management systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and KBR policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor quality performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate the delivery of functional objectives by supporting leadership, as well as providing direction to managers and professional staff.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the Quality program, including inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, and tools for problem-solving and assessments.
  • Utilize knowledge of quality systems and tools to support the validation and verification of contractually required standards for project execution and proposals.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Report on quality metrics and performance to senior management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing quality-related concerns and feedback.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in quality management.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/quality or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-10 years of directly related Quality experience.
  • Requires strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001 and AS9100).
  • Must be proficient in data analysis and quality management software.


Preferred Qualifications
  • CQM/CQA/Six Sigma green belt certification or similar quality management certifications.
  • Experience implementing Lean Six Sigma for services programs.
  • PMP or similar certification.
  • Completion of ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO17025 QMS auditor training.
  • Experience with Aerospace manufacturing, ISO17025, and asset management programs.
