Full Job Description
Rockwood Manufacturing, an ASSA ABLOY Group Company, needs an experienced Quality Manager for our fast-paced, customer focused facilities located in Rockwood and Somerset, PA.

Rockwood is a growing and profitable company that makes commercial grade door hardware including protective plating, door accessories, and designer door opening hardware as well as Glass Solutions products.

General Description: We will look for you first to familiarize yourself with our products and customers' expectations then develop a robust quality system around them. As many of our products have an aesthetic component, you will need a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with our team to accomplish our goals. You will be responsible for further developing our quality system, while we are not currently ISO 9000 certified, we do foresee this being a future goal.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead corrective action and quality improvement processes for internal processes and outside suppliers to drive problems back to true root cause
  • Development, Implement, and sustain current and future quality systems, policies, procedures, and programs focused on being the premier supplier for our customers. This will include:
    • Corrective Action System
    • COPQ measurement, analysis, and action Items
    • Incoming material inspections and audits
    • Supplier quality development
    • Creation and management of quality work Instructions
    • Cost of quality measures and reporting
    • Customer care form measures and reporting
  • Interface with customers and suppliers on all types of quality issues
  • As a member of the New Product Development Team, review and validate material specifications, critical to quality checks, and other parameters for new and existing products.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in AA group quality council meetings and events.
  • Maintain and lead quality assessment strategies and actions.
  • Maintain calibration records, develop, specify, and procure new inspection tools and technologies
  • Drive down overall COPQ costs by identifying and solving recurring problems to drive down scrap, replacement order, and rework rates
  • Occasional travel to support diagnosis and/or product repair at customer facilities or jobsites
  • Lead and perform all other duties / projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Experience in formal quality program environment
  • 4 Year Degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Science, Technology), or
  • Certified Quality Manager (ASQ or Equivalent), or equivalent combination of education and experience
