WHAT YOU'LL DO- Perform field inspections to verify construction work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, standards, and approved procedures.
- Monitor construction activities, materials, workmanship, and installation practices across active infrastructure and transportation projects.
- Document inspection findings, deficiencies, corrective actions, and daily field observations through detailed reports and tracking systems.
- Coordinate with contractors, construction managers, engineers, and project stakeholders regarding quality-related issues and resolutions.
- Review inspection documentation, material certifications, testing reports, and quality records for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and quality control procedures throughout project delivery.
- Participate in field meetings, walkthroughs, audits, and punch list activities as needed.
- Track non-conformance items and support follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions are completed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements, agency standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Support project closeout activities including turnover documentation and final quality verification.
QUALIFICATIONS- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of inspection or quality assurance/quality control experience within transportation, infrastructure, heavy civil, or construction projects.
- Experience working on public-sector or agency-driven construction programs strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with construction inspection procedures, quality documentation, testing standards, and field coordination processes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
- Strong written communication and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic inspection/documentation systems.
- Certifications such as NICET, OSHA, ICC, ACI, or other relevant industry certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work in active field environments across New York and New Jersey project locations.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $40 - $70 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
