OverviewHerzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a
Quality Inspector in
Springfield, VA to join our team. Herzog is constructing a 5,000 ft flyover bridge structure over existing tracks along with track, signal, and heavy civil scopes of work.
The pay range for this position is $100,000.00- $140,000.00 annually. The pay range for this position is for the project assignment at Franconia.
Duties and Responsibilities:*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Read and understand civil construction drawings
- Interpret and understand contract specifications and local codes.
- Interact with crews and client representatives to ensure work meets contact requirements.
- Perform field equipment audits
- Write detailed daily reports
- Preform daily inspection and checklists on work in the field
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High level of concentration and attention to detail is required
- Ability to focus on a defined task for extended period of time
- Previous experience as a heavy civil inspector desired
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
Pre-Employment Requirements:- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

- Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
- Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.

- Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
