What Drives Success

The Quality Engineering Supervisor provides leadership to a team of Quality Engineers and technical support personnel, driving robust quality engineering practices across manufacturing and customer interfaces. This role is responsible for applying advanced quality engineering methodologies to solve complex technical and customer issues, strengthen corrective action execution, and continuously improve product, process, and system performance.

This position is highly visible and customer-facing, requiring a strong balance of technical depth, people leadership, and hands-on engagement on the manufacturing floor.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers and technical staff (salaried and hourly).
  • Plan, organize, and direct daily work activities to support production, customer, and quality objectives.
  • Identify skill gaps and actively promote training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of positive relations, safe working environment, accountability, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.
  • Identifies and communicates work goals and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

Quality Engineering & Continuous Improvement
  • Apply advanced quality engineering tools and methodologies to investigate and resolve complex quality and process issues.
  • Lead and oversee Corrective Action Request (CAR) execution, ensuring effective containment, root cause analysis, corrective, and preventive actions.
  • Utilize SPC, capability studies, Six Sigma, and other statistical methods to improve and sustain product quality.
  • Evaluate technical progress of quality initiatives to ensure sound application of engineering principles and scientific rigor.

Project & Program Management
  • Manage quality-related research, development, and technical programs that drive improved product performance, increased throughput, and cost reduction.
  • Ensure projects progress according to defined timelines, budgets, and objectives.
  • Provide clear technical and administrative direction for departmental initiatives and cross-functional projects.

Cross-Functional & Customer Engagement
  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to resolve quality issues and drive systemic improvements.
  • Act as a primary quality engineering interface with customers, providing timely responses, investigation updates, and closure of customer concerns.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and on-site investigations as needed.

Manufacturing Floor Presence
  • Maintain a strong, routine presence on the manufacturing floor to understand processes, support engineers and operators, and respond quickly to quality and customer issues.
  • Prioritize activities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

Travel
  • Travel up to 50% to customer sites as required to support issue resolution, investigations, and relationship management.


What We Are Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical function.
  • Demonstrated experience applying engineering principles to improve and maintain product quality standards.
    • Strong working knowledge of: Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Studies, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action, Six Sigma methodologies
  • Proven ability to prioritize and lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Black Belt preferred).
  • Prior experience leading or supervising engineers or technical teams.
  • Customer-facing experience in a manufacturing environment.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $98,000 - $129,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company's applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
