Job Description

Quality Engineer
Position Summary
The Quality Engineer ensures that products, processes, and systems meet defined standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role drives continuous improvement, leads root cause investigations, and partners closely with engineering, operations, and suppliers to prevent defects and optimize quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes, procedures, and standards.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA.
• Perform process capability studies, statistical analysis, and data driven decision making to improve product quality.
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and quality are built into new products (PFMEA, control plans).
• Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 or other relevant standards.
• Develop inspection criteria, test methods, and quality documentation.
• Support production teams with troubleshooting, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Specifications and Customer requirements to ensure ERP system is meeting all requirements
• Work with customers and sales groups on concession requests.
• Monitor KPIs such as defect rates, yield, scrap, and customer complaints; drive improvement plans.
• Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve incoming material quality.
• Champion a culture of quality across the organization.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
• 2-5+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, MSA, control plans, Lean/Six Sigma).
• Experience with AS9100 or other quality management systems.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, JMP, or similar).
• Excellent problem solving, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Experience with supplier quality management.
• Hands on experience in a manufacturing environment.
