Title:
Quality Engineer

Job Summary

KBR is seeking a Mid-Senior level Quality Engineer to work in a challenging weapons system development and production environment. The individual will work as part of a team supporting the Search, Track Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Project Office which manages a portfolio of Army radar systems. Specifically, the individual will be part of the Product Assurance Directorate, ensuring only quality products that meet specifications are delivered to the soldier. The individual will participate in system development, pilot line validations, manufacturing audits, failure reviews, functional configuration audits, physical configuration audits, drawing reviews, test set validations, and quality audits. Experience with development and manufacturing engineering for electrical and mechanical items, source quality engineering, manufacturing work instruction development, manufacturing standards, hardware testing, production auditing, and failure analysis required. This position will make a difference in terms of product quality and hence warfighter capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage source code repositories, establish and maintain configuration baselines, and track changes through different builds and releases
  • Will provide independent review of prime contractor quality, reliability, and safety activities. The individual will identify deficiencies and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Will provide subject matter expertise for independent review and comment to various qualification plans, quality plans, acceptance test plans, procedures and associated test results
  • Will evaluate weapons system and component environmental qualification testing results
  • Will provide support to on-site vendor quality audits at various manufacturing locations across the country
  • Will provide contributions to various failure review activities
  • Will support first article inspection/Physical Configuration Audits reviews using AS9102
  • Will support development of quality, reliability, and natural and induced environmental requirements


Basic Qualifications
  • Must have an active SECRET clearance and be a US Citizen
  • A Bachelors Degree or higher
  • A minimum of ten years' experience in a manufacturing setting is required
  • Proven manufacturing quality engineering/quality management experience is required to provide independent assessment of defense contractor issues
  • Proven troubleshooting and root cause/corrective action experience required to provide independent assessment of defense contractor issues


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Department of War weapons systems development and manufacturing a plus
  • A pilot's license or aviation weather background/experience a plus
  • Experience with US Army reliability programs also a plus
