Overview

Quality Engineer II

Responsibilities

The Position:

Support the local inspection activity, drive continuous improvement through data analysis, respond to issues leveraging a robust root cause analysis, and support definition of quality activities through procedural and instruction updates.

Inspection areas include receiving, in-process, final, or shipping inspection.

Quality Assurance infrastructure administration (including calibrated equipment, Stamp Control, ESD, Training Program, etc.)
  • Support Change Control Board function through a technical and procedural review of engineering documentation (incl. Engineering Drawings, Acceptance Test Procedures, etc.)
  • Supporting MRB through investigating non-conforming parts, collaborating with various departments (Design Engineering, Procurement, etc.), confirming discrepancy, and supporting a disposition.
  • Support First Article Inspections per AS9102 at the Supplier and those produced internally.
  • Liaise activity and provide technical support to the quality control inspectors.
  • Performs root cause analyses to support the application of closed loop corrective action.
  • Gather and analyze data to develop data-driven corrective actions plans for internal rejections, customer rejections, supplier issues, etc. prioritizing continuous improvement.
  • Improve and implements quality operation procedures, work instructions, and quality planning.
  • Support internal and external audit activity.
  • Lead various improvement projects from idea creation to completion.


The wage range of $82,000 - $138,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives (please also ensure to include a full list of "other forms of compensation" applicable to any posting too, and this would include GEB, NQDC, commissions, profit-sharing, as just some illustrative examples).

What We're Looking For:

  • BS, BSEE or related Engineering degree. Equivalent Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Aerospace Industry experience or other regulatory-governed experience.
  • Experience leading 6S activities preferred.
  • Experience with supporting Lean Manufacturing events preferred.
  • Experience interpreting Engineering drawings and Acceptance Test Procedures at an advanced level.
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently to resolve issues at an intermediate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse personalities and build cooperative relationships at an advanced level.
  • Fully proficient with MS Office Suite applications
  • Demonstrated ability to have Clear, Concise and Effective communication skills.
  • Fully proficient in mechanical measurement instruments and electrical instruments.
  • Experience working in AS9100 and FAA compliant environment.
  • Fully proficient with various root cause analysis methods.
  • Lifting pushing, and/or pulling boxes and/or carts (dolly's) ranging from 5 to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
  • Bending and twisting along with extended periods standing (25%), sitting (50%), and walking (25%) based on business requirements.
  • Willingness to travel 5% or less.
