Quality Engineer

Location: El Segundo, CA (Onsite)

Pay Range: $58.00 - $60.00 per hour

Job Type: Long Term Contract, W2

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support a leading global consumer products organization in the development of innovative toy and children's products. This role will partner with Quality, Product Development, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Marketing teams to ensure products meet the highest standards for quality, safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer products, quality engineering, and product development, along with strong knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, risk analysis, and quality assurance methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in product concept and design reviews, providing input on quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and consumer expectations
• Develop and maintain product specifications related to performance, safety, and quality
• Interpret and communicate consumer product regulatory requirements
• Conduct risk assessments and proactively identify quality and safety concerns
• Create and update engineering, manufacturing, and quality standards
• Investigate product defects, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions
• Collaborate with international quality and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Support new product development from concept through launch
• Manage product quality and safety issues across multiple projects and global teams
• Lead cross-functional projects impacting multiple departments
• Research and support innovative product categories and technologies
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed
• Travel periodically to manufacturing facilities and product development locations

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
5-9 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, Product Development, or a related field
• Experience working within a consumer products environment
• Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience utilizing DFMEA, PFMEA, Statistical Analysis, Risk Analysis, and similar quality engineering tools
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with toys and children's products
• Knowledge of consumer product regulatory standards
• Experience with plastic molding processes
• Experience with metal forming and fabrication processes
• Experience with electronic assembly
• Experience with factory and consumer assembly processes
• Knowledge of Six Sigma or comparable quality methodologies
• Experience utilizing digital modeling review and product analysis tools
