Responsibilities

  • Decide on product acceptance based on inspection outcomes and initiate concessions as necessary.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts involving MRB, MCAB, and 8D processes, including customer complaint resolution.
  • Control non-conformances and manage Cost of Poor Quality activities.
  • Navigate customer portals efficiently for quality-related tasks and submissions.
  • Engage in supplier quality activities and conduct internal audits aligned with AS9100 and Nadcap requirements.

Full Job Description
Position Description: TheQuality Engineer will support the inspection process, develop inspection methods, handle problem resolution as well as disposition of non-conformances. The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable of inspection techniques, aerospace requirements and corrective action processes. This position will be required to maintain designation as a customer approved delegated product release representative per AS13001 and customer requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with aerospace quality requirements.
  • Delegated quality representative for product release, will require AS13001 cert/customer approval.
  • AS9102 first article inspection reports from creation to submittal and approval.
  • Provide direction and guidance to inspection including problem resolution - requires hands-on experience with inspection equipment and GD&T. Continuous improvement of inspection process.
  • Identify inspection methods and equipment to fulfill customer inspection requirements.
  • Determine product acceptance based upon inspection results. Initiate concessions as needed.
  • Lead MRB, MCAB and 8D problem solving including resolving customer complaints.
  • Control of non-conformances and Cost of Poor Quality activity.
  • Efficiently navigate through customers' portals for quality related activity and submittals.
  • Supplier quality activity.
  • Quality professional required to interface with customers and supplier quality representatives.
  • Internal audits aligned with AS9100 and Nadcap.
  • Provide employee training and presentations to promote quality and continuous improvements.
  • Assist with PPAP/APQP/MSA activity.


Qualifications:

  • Highly skilled in mechanical and visual inspection.
  • Well versed with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experienced with generating, reviewing and submittal of AS9102 first article inspection reports.
  • Able to qualify as a customer approved self-release agent (a.k.a. DQR/ASRA).
  • Proficient with online portals, electronic files and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Technically competent, reliable, flexible team player.
  • Pluses: Experienced with aerospace welding requirements, CMM activity, and Calibration.
