This position is for the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Program to support the Quality Development Team. The role is responsible for applying systems-level qualityengineering principles to ensure that missile subsystems and integrated assembliesmeet all reliability, safety, and performance requirements throughout the productlife-cycle. They will be responsible for all aspects of Quality across the programs life-cycle including proposals, contract review, start-up, development, and transition toproduction support. Requires an understanding of quality tasks across quality functionsincluding hardware, software, systems and suppliers/subcontractors, and customers.Proficient in company policies. Partners with program teams as the Quality Lead fordesign and development. Performs contract reviews and flows down contract qualityrequirements to quality team, including suppliers.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing quality processes,coordinating cross-functional teams, and supporting hybrid on-site/remote operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Execute and document quality planning activities (e.g., QP, FMEA, PFMEA, DRE,control plans) for PrSM subsystems and assemblies.
  • Perform root-cause investigations on non-conformances, failures, and testanomalies; develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
    Support Supplier Quality Management: audit suppliers, review supplier qualitydocumentation, and monitor supplier performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, reliability engineers, programmanagement to drive design for reliability and design for manufacturabilityimprovements.
  • Maintain and update configuration management and quality records in accordancewith MIL-STD-1520, AS9100, and program-specific procedures.
  • Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and production readinessreviews, providing quality input and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and present quality status reports, trend analyses, and metrics to programleadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related STEM field
  • 2 years of professional experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or aclosely-related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience applying AS9100, MIL-STD-1520, MIL-STD-1629, andDFARS quality requirements, interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T, andperforming mechanical/electrical inspections
  • Proven ability to develop inspection plans, conduct First-Article Inspections toAS9102, and generate NCRs, CAPA, FMEAs, and control plans using an electronicQMS (e.g., PTC Integrity, Teamcenter)
  • Ability to travel approximately 25 % and work on-site in a manufacturingenvironment, including standing for extended periods and using required PersonalProtective Equipment


Desired Skills

  • Working knowledge of MFC Apriso and P2P business systems
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and reliability tools(e.g., RCM, RAMS)
  • Experience with casting and additive-manufacturing tooling
  • Understanding of reliability prediction methods, life-data analysis, and acceleratedlife testing
  • Experience conducting supplier audits, assessing supplier processes, and drivingsupplier corrective actions (provides deeper audit expertise beyond basiccorrective-action work)
  • Strong problem-solving ability: prioritize multiple issues and drive timely resolutionunder pressure
  • Proven team-collaboration skills: influence multidisciplinary teams without directauthority
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel functions, PowerPoint) and familiarity with PLM/QLMtools; basic scripting (e.g., VBA) for data manipulation
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (Yellow Belt or higher) or othercontinuous-improvement methodologies


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
