Position Summary

The Quality Engineer is a key technical contributor responsible for ensuring product quality, improving processes, and driving cost reduction through standardized, data-driven methodologies including PEX and DMAIC. A central element of this role is the day-to-day working partnership with process engineers across all manufacturing departments.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems, Compliance & Auditing
• Ensure product quality and compliance to customer, contractual, and internal requirements
• Ensure process/documentation changes meet quality, compliance, and productivity targets

Problem Solving & PEX / DMAIC
• Lead investigations using PEX methodology and DMAIC framework
• Apply 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Kepner-Tregoe, and statistical analysis tools
• Engage process engineers in joint investigations

Process Engineering Partnership
• Serve as the primary quality partner to process engineers across all departments
• Collaborate with process engineers to identify, prioritize, and resolve internal quality issues

Customer Complaints & CAPA
• Own full lifecycle of customer complaint investigations through verified closure

Built-In Quality & Process Control
• Drive transition from inspection-based quality toward upstream defect prevention

Internal Quality & Nonconforming Material
• Lead defect and scrap reduction projects

Training, Capability Building & Data
• Identify training gaps and develop targeted plans
• Develop dashboards for complaint trends, CAPA performance, yield, and COPQ

Required Qualifications
• BS in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or related field
• 3+ years in manufacturing quality or process engineering
• Proficiency with DMAIC, 8D, and 5-Why methodologies

Preferred Qualifications
• Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and Cp/Cpk experience
• ASQ CQE or CQA preferred

The range for this position is $80,011.00 - $110,016.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
