Avery Dennison Performance Tapes is hiring a Sr. Quality Engineer for our Painesville, OH facility to lead our Quality Systems through a period of rapid PSA technology evolution. This role is designed for a data-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where pushing the boundaries of adhesive performance is the daily standard. You will own the integrity of our CAPA processes, drive cross-functional root cause discovery, and manage our site's data strategy to ensure quality moves at the speed of innovation. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager.

In this important role you will also be responsible for:
  • Directly manage and oversee the Data Management Coordinator, ensuring data integrity, timely reporting, and the continuous optimization of internal database workflows.
  • Drive site quality through analysis, identification of root cause issues, partnering with Production and Engineering to complete resolutions and impact site quality
  • Ability to collect data, analyze, interpret and summarize statistical methods such as Process Capability Studies, Process Maps, Process Failure Modes Effective Analysis and Control Plans in order to increase production efficiency.
  • Works directly with external and internal customers to address and resolve questions, concerns, requirements, complaints, and rejects using various internal and customer CAPA/SCAR systems.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments on quality issues, addresses them with urgency, and drives corrective/preventive actions to implementation and verification.
  • Own Management of Change (MOC) Process
  • Conduct and/or support internal audits, customer audits, customer visits, and supplier audits as necessary.
  • Administers production quality support related to issue resolution, product quality/risk assessment, and product disposition.
  • Leads plant quality support and representation in new product development, spec reviews and approvals, scale-up, design transfer, and facility validation activities.
  • Lead and facilitate problem-solving activities, including customer, supplier, and Avery personnel as participants.
  • Provides production support of a quality/statistical data analysis nature.
  • Prepare and submit monthly quality KPI reports to keep track of all meaningful quality indexes and quality improvement activities for all outsourced suppliers.
  • Develop necessary quality standards (procedures) and requirements for suppliers.
  • Lead and commit to zero quality incidents for outsourced suppliers.
  • Generate and provide quality KPIs for management review.
  • Lead quality department task on New Product Development.
  • Participate and/or lead Enterprise Lean Sigma and Six Sigma activities.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • 5+ years of technical work experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to project manage multiple key quality-type projects with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use statistical tools and methods to analyze data, make determinations, and provide direction to management.
  • Used tools like correlation, regression, process capability, statistical process control, and analysis of variance.
  • Experience handling multiple responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
  • Able to effectively work with various functions and levels within the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead process mapping

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience with SPC and MSA programs
  • Experience working in or sustaining IATF operations


Additional Information

The salary range for this position will be $90k-120k / year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
