Job Description:

* The Quality Engineer position offers level 1 - Senior QE. Wage scale provided reflects level 1 - 2.

The Quality Engineer supports flow down of all customer and industry standard requirements and communicates that information to ensure that product meets contracted requirements. The Quality Engineer provides leadership and training for other Quality Engineers/Quality Administrators. The Quality Engineer may be required to interface with customers and suppliers and will be required to dress and act in a professional manner appropriate with these business dealings as a representative of AMT.

What will my responsibilities include?
    • Maintains a working knowledge of customer and industry quality standards (AS9100 / AS9102).
    • Reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Understands GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerance).
    • Performs internal audits to verify/ensure conformance to AMT requirements and prepares formal audit reports.
    • Applies PO Quality clauses to applicable product in MRP system.
    • Maintains the AMT Approved Supplier List.
    • Reviews manufacturing plans/NRCs created by Engineering and approves them based on compliance with customer specifications.
    • Reviews and approves Change Incorporation Requests (CIRs) and Contract Review Records (CRRs) as needed.
    • Prepares First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102 standards.
    • Provides technical input for internal disposition on AMT rejected product.
    • Submits nonconforming product to customers.
    • Analyzes rejection history and provides data to management.
    • Researches, recommends and issues Corrective Action Requests as required, as well as documents/responds to requests/complaints and performs verification of CA effectiveness.
    • Presents information to internal Company staff.
    • Interfaces with customers or customer representatives.
    • Provides information and assistance to Manufacturing and Inspection personnel regarding quality issues, interpretation of customer specifications and Company procedures.
    • Works with all departments to support continuous improvement activities.
    • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Preferred:
  • 10 years Quality Assurance/Inspection experience in the aerospace industry or 5 years QA experience with a degree in a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products and email systems.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret Engineering Drawings and specifications at an advanced level.
  • Fluent understanding of GD&T.
  • Documented internal audit experience.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis and RCCA methodology and tools (5 Why's, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.)
  • Basic ability to navigate within Business/ERP Systems and CAD Environments (Catia/Enovia).
  • Hands-on inspection experience of aircraft structural parts.
  • Engineering degree or Cert Quality Engineer (ASQ).

Physical Requirements:
  • Visual inspection/review of product.
  • Presentation of information to internal Company staff.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Use of multi-line phone.
  • Use of computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Standing, walking, sitting at various times throughout the work day.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Correctable vision to 20/25, or per customer requirements

Work Environment:
  • Primarily shared office environment.
  • The Quality Engineer may be required to enter the machine shop/assembly shop environment at times throughout the work day; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and vapor from coolant, etc.
  • Possible skin and inhaled contact with various sealants, paints, adhesives, and other chemicalsmay occur during inspection and other quality process activities.
  • Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
  • Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy.

Salary Offering: $37.26 per hour to $51.44 per hour

Shift available:

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
